New "THE LAST OF US" Screenshots

The girl looks like she's 13. Do we really need to see her bump mapped nipples?

Yes, we need to very much.

The game and Ellen Page are looking delicious.

You would think people would learn after U2 and 3 that they focus on the visuals at the end. Both those games look dramatically better than they did at reveal.

Looks blurry as fuck in these shots. are these screens from some new trailer? Really like the art behind this game though. Characters also look far more interesting than ones found in Uncharted.

this game looks amazing but seriously. who doesn't suspect we've already played this game before? i almost guarantee there will be zero gameplay innovation in this thing and it'll be front-loaded with "drama" and "story".

We been though this. Some of you are now doing this on purpose to get a stupid reaction.

Stop with the nipples and rape garbage please.

oh, id' also like to have some exploration bits, but that does not mean that if the game is linear it cannot be a good survival/whatever. I think that exploration is good, but too much freedom makes you loose the pace and i don't want this to be GTA with zombies. And so far , most survival-horror games i have played, have been really linear or limited when exploring (closed doors that needs a specific key :p )

i love GTA more than anything, but yeah i wouldn't want this to be quite that open (not least because it would be just way too much work, game would be released in 2025).

i'm thinking something like Bioshock, but just a bit more open. you know, big "rooms" instead of one massive world or a straight linear path.

You can tell this just by a few photos? o_0

i mean the visual style, and of course with the caveat that it's only from these photos

it just sort of looks like a mishmash of elements from a bunch of different post-apocalyptic settings to me

albeit incredibly well executed and sumptuous, as per usual for naughty dog

Well having a post-apocalyptic setting similar to I Am Legend is much more original than the barren wasteland we usually see in video games IMO, but I know what you mean. =)

Love the facial expressions; fear and dismay are such difficult emotions to portray effectively. Very interested.

This. I kept going Wow I can feel the tension and understand the moment of what's going on just by the facial expressions. Especially Zoeys

i agree, although that kind of thing was dabbled with in enslaved

it's a nice touch that there are human scavengers, i sort of hope that most of the time you have to run away from them instead of fighting

That doesn't mean it won't be great. Just because Die Hard exists doesn't mean I don't want more cheesy action flicks.

I'm always on the lookout for new story driven action experiences like Uncharted. The fact that I've played something like that before certainly doesn't mean that I only want something new.

The type of game The Last of Us appears to be isn't exactly super common either.

Why is it that something has to be innovative to be worth our while? People always remissness about the old days but most games back then fell into a select few genres.

Its the total opposite. The graphics are let down by the lack of resolution but the design of the characters and environments are breathtaking.

Ruin porn.

I think most sane people would agree more dev time on more powerful hardware would do this or any game good. I guess you have to make the choice that 720p 30 fps is adequate or not. While technical achievement is great I think ultimately if the game isn't fun or interesting it doesn't make me want to play the game.

Two words:

Escort mission.

-They're focusing on Ellie's AI a lot because they want her to be part of the combat. She gives you warnings and helps you out of jams, and her combat capabilities grow over time, though they didn't say how. Game Informer points out she has a gun on the cover. They're trying to make it so she doesn't become an escort question like burden though, as they feel no one would enjoy that.

.

I played this game before it was called

Enslaved
This shit again?

i just wanted to use the word reductive (madonna)

i meant that the design is great but somewhat derivative

This looks like Uncharted with better theming, hot diggity!

And the graphics are so good... Best texturing in the industry.

I completely agree. The game would lose that feeling of despair and helplessness that a post-apocalyptic setting should induce if the character was an over-powered billy-badass. =p

Can't unsee....

I thought that the moment I saw the first trailer. Not that I mind, it's a great design for that type of character. I just hope they don't go too far into the whole "14 year old has the mentality and smarts of a 30 year old" angle. I want her to show signs of being a vulnerable and inexperienced 14 year.

presumably this kind of game design is quite difficult to do properly; it would be great if a company as accomplished as naughty dog had a go. the only other games i can think of off the top of my head are those japanese 'clock tower' type games and amnesia.

Enslaved
Enslaved was more of a melee combat game, though, so I don't think they will be directly comparable. I'm sure this will be much more technically competent too (Enslaved ran like shit).

That said, I LOVED Enslaved regardless so why WOULDN'T I want something else that could capture that feeling?

Sick... For having eyesight?

You're seeing things that aren't there. I think I know what you saw, but just look at the other screens. Unless you're implying that's an animated nipple bump... hey! Maybe it's part of gameplay, it lets you know how cold it is...

There's supposed to be some birds on that part, the bad pics + compression "kinda" makes it look like a bump, but it's not. Really, no one saw it till now for a reason.

It's funny, because the gameplay sounds radically different from uncharted (
more open world, scarcity of bullets, one shot one kill
, etc) yet the look has that same colorful and gorgeous vibe.
So my brain is kinda conflicted, it sees Uncharted, but it knows it's not.

I'm talking about the whole Urban Jungle, Escorting, and being alone in a empty City vibe.
