Nintendo has me by the balls. That being said, this doesn't bother me at all. People look at this as locking extra content away, and I look at this as "this content wouldn't exist without this toy". As someone who is really excited to have this toy on my shelf, I think it is very cool that this toy functions as more than just a neat display, and I think it's cool that the toy gives me more than just skins or other crap I don't care about in the game.
And to the person that mentioned that this is just as bad as apologists saying it's good that Nintendo doesn't drop their prices: Look, I never want to spend $60 on a game. But in early March, HZD and Zelda both came out. They were both huge games, and I was going to play one first. Am I going to spend $60 on the game that will be $60 for the next 3 years, or am I going to spend $60 on the game that will be $20 this Black Friday? I'm not saying it's good for consumers, but at least I don't feel guilty about buying in on a game day one with Nintendo.
