Yo this might not be the best thread for this but ill give it a shot...

Im going to europe tomorrow and i was wondering if i could charge my 3ds there considering that ill use an adaptor to plug it in the sockets.

You'll need an adapter. You'll also need a travel transformer meant for electronics, not electrical devices. The input on the plugs in America is 110/120 volts, and Europe uses 220/240 volts. So, you'll need to have the voltage dropped so you don't burn anything up.

If anyone knows I'm wrong, please correct me. I work at a RadioShack and I do sell this stuff often enough, and I really don't want to be the reason someone roasts their cell phone.

Man, Excite Bike is sick. I love the effect that 3D adds to it, but damn if it ain't hard. I still can't figure out how to hit and land the ramps correctly.

A European power supply is probably cheaper than a step down converter.

Finally, I can play Metal Storm with the circle pad. Using the D-pad I had to give up on up/down motions. God, I hate non-phat DS D-pads

Sigh, I still can't access the store. Tried countless times and I'm getting the same error over and over. I've tried using different access points and changed DNS, but nothing works.

Nintendos power supplies are fixed voltage. You'll need a European (230V) power supply, an American one will not work. Luckily, they're pretty cheap.

So I need to buy a european charger or could I just get a convertor?

What do you mean by power supply?

A European charger should be the cheaper option. They're €10 or something if I remember correctly.

EDIT: Power supply (unit) = charger.

I had some AR markers lying around, so I tried scanning them with the Pokedex app.
This one shows an unknown pokeman (just a silhouette and a bunch of question marks) and adds a marker sticker with no pokeman attached to your album:

IFgF8.png

The pokeman looks a bit like this one (thanks Gravijah): http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/583.shtml
Perhaps it's something they'll add with an update?

So you can scan any marker?

Ok so I just go to a gameshop over there and buy a european 3ds charger?

I've been in and out of it umpteen times with no connection troubles. I think some of these errors are likely to be to do with DNS propagation or something.

In your 3DS Internet Connection settings, try adding manual DNS to your connection (turn auto-obtain off):

Keep your router's IP address as your Primary DNS if you want to keep trying your ISPs DNS now and then
but for others:

Google DNS
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

If that doesn't work, perhaps try adding a proxy.
It does look like it's a connection trouble (005-5819). Though it's ridiculous that I can go online just fine but the eShop.

Tried manually tipping DNS doesn't help either.

No idea. When I needed a replacement charger, I ordered it directly from NoE. But I guess some shops should carry them.

The converters we sell at RadioShack are between 30 and 50 usd, just sayin'.

Converters are probabbly more expensive because you can use them for almost anything, like your laptop shaving machine etc etc

Posting from the 3DS! EXCITE

Turning my computer on, and then it's time to buy the Animal Crossing Calculator/Clock.

I also need a calendar. C'mon, Nintendo!
The Nintendo Countdown Calender for DSiWare serves as a calender if you just want a calender. $1.99 great buy. And it has countdowns.

Anywayz: after spending more time with each title I must say that this is a good launch lineup. (tho there couldve been more)

I never played Alleyway but its pretty fun. Better than I thought.

The gameboy borders are just awsome.

Can't wait for the conference to see if they suprise launch anything else.

Ok, just switched to the UK and this is what it says:

By changing the region setting, you will no longer have access to the funds associated with your previous region. To restore your previous balance, switch back to the previous setting.

So, yeah, change regions away.

The only way for the eShop to be successful is to open it up to all developers like
Apple
Google does. The open market on the
Apple App Store
Android Market is the reason why it is so successful. I don't understand why Nintendo (and Sony and Microsoft) don't understand this.

Fixed. The Apple app store is anything but open. Countless restrictions on what you can and can't do - they can reject any app they want, whenever they feel like it, without giving a good reason. They want to dictate how you code, what language you use and what SDK you use. They'll also happily snatch apps back even after purchase and are horribly non consistent with their policies (ie, small developer with risque app - BANNED; Big corporation such as Playboy with blatant soft porn - PLEASE COME IN, SIR)

Did you really buy the system without looking at the future announced games?

People do this all the time & then complain like we're supposed to give a damn. It was extra annoying with the Wii. You are a fool if you blow $250 on a toy blindly.

I've been playing Cave Story since I got the update this morning. That game is really fucking good!

Started playing SML, but it is just not doing it for me. I wasn't a very big fan of the original Gameboy, though (Except Tetris).

According to Serebii, if you scan markers, the likelihood of finding that Pokemon via SpotPass will increase. You can't actually scan and have Pokemon added. Only Spot Pass and trading with friends will add Pokemon.

edit: By the way, I ended up with Audino, Emolga, Foongus, Minccino, Scraggy, Axew, and Hydregion. In addition to all the starters full lines, which I'm guessing everyone has.

This is wrong, i just scanned that Virizon AR card and it was added to my pokedex.

The laptop shouldn't need anything but an adapter, but for the most part you can use the converters for everything else. They've got different wattage you get depending on the type of device. You want 2000 watts for a blow dryer, but please don't plug a 3ds into that unless you want a 249.99 (plus tax) brick.

Can someone please tell me how to close tabs in the browser?
I'm pretty sure it does'nt have tabs. It just shows your most recent visited sites when you click a link which makes it look like it has tabs when it does'nt.

The circle pad is amazing for games like KH.

I have a White DS Lite at its launch, a Burgundy XL I bought roughly 6 months after its launch, and a White DSi I bought because I found a deal on a new one and I wanted a White one while they were still available.

I'm a reluctant collector, so I really hate dumping any of 'em though.

I know I've probably missed something huge and most likely obvious here, but where are you getting the AR cards to scan in to the Pokedex?

Is there some special way to download this update or something? I must have tried 20-30 times between last night and now and it refuses to update saying there is an "error". It is pissing me off, I think my 3DS is broken.

This will sound dumb but try powering off. I had to do this once I got tons of errors before I could get anything going.

I have done that already too. I'm seriously getting pissed.

it might just be nintendo's shitty servers. i had to try ~30 times before it worked in the morning. and i STILL haven't been able to log into the store despite trying close to 100 times at this point. i called nintendo's swiss support and apparently in certain regions the store is not working at all (like switzerland). great, huh?

Anyone having luck viewing 3D pics via the browser? I've been checking out 3Dporch, but I can't get the images to show up. When I select MPO, they don't appear at all. The wiggle ones aren't in 3D. Plus, the 3D slider on the 3DS seems to turn off when you open the browser.

It took me a while to figure this out, but select MP0 and then when you select an image, you should see a "download image" button of some sorts. Click the button and it'll display the image on the top screen while the bottom screen lets you save to SD card.

Edit: Getting beaten too much these days...

I am creating an application which will generate all < 65,536 possible combinations of Pokemon. You can unlock new Pokemon.

Like with this square I found:

That is Vicini. I hope to find more...

Just from what people have made in this thread :p

Am I the only one who can't access the eShop yet? I'm still getting the 005-5819 error code. I can use the browser just fine, but I can't get into the eShop. So annoying.

I just downloaded Zelda (I've never played the game boy ones before), and am wondering if I'll be able to download 4 swords free on the 3DS and my DSiXL.

I'm in Canada and don't seem to have access to the 3DS browser, and was disappointed to not be able to find Flipnote Studio for download.

I'm thinking I'm better off leaving all my DSiWare content on the XL, but would like some more stuff to play around with on the 3ds.

Canada has access to the browser. It's the top-right of your home menu (was always there, just disabled until the update).
