Terms agreed with Real Madrid

"A true leader and a player who identifies with the club such as Sami Khedira is one that you naturally don't want to let go but, on the other hand, we can perfectly understand Sami's wish to further his career at Real. We wish him lots of success for his new challenge in Madrid," said director of sport Fredi Bobic.

poor khedira, his career is ruined. he'll be in the pecking order behind diara and alonso. and after mourinho is fired at the end of the season, they wont even remember he exists and ship him to italy

ozil better come to united

Awesome match, though I bet Chicharito could have scored an equaliser for Man Utd. :D

Gol de................... el bofo? Unbelievable.

Just imagine if he had played like that during the game against Argentina.

We would have lost anyway, but with a more decent score.

So last night Seattle traded Freddie Ljunberg to Chicago for a conditional draft pick in 2011 or 2012.

NY today confirms the signing of Rafa Marquez from Barcelona. 5 years - $25 million deal. That is a lot of money in MLS terms to throw at someone not named Henry, Ronaldinho, Becks.

So that means come August 8th on ESPN2, CHI vs. NY will feature 5 DP's on the field at once.

Quite pleased with the Arsenal v Milan game today. Ended as a 1-1 draw, but with all players match sharp we would have beaten them by a couple.

New signings Koscielny and Chamakh played great, Koscielny was very solid defensively and good in the air which is what we need. Chamakh fitted straight into our style of play and scored on his home debut. Didn't even see his heading which is his main strength as well.

With Sagna, Clichy, Song, Fabregas and RvP to come back into the starting line up it was a good sign, although to be genuine title contenders still need some more signings.

We need a number 1 goalie (rumour is Marchetti), at least one more CB as cover, and hopefully a powerful DM in the Essien mould (hopefully Inler or someone similar).

Can't wait for the first game against Liverpool on the 15th!

Liverpool just re-signed Fabio Aurelio.

Our Brazilian Free-kick wizard.

Hopefully the new aussie doctor Bruckner can fix his injury problems...

It's a good sign that things are looking up. He must have had heard something from Roy that made him reconsider.

Either that, or no one wanted him.

Todays Everton match was quite great and Cahill was just amazing.

5 wins out of 5 pre-season games. best start since 87'.

Top 4, here we come...

Arsenal played some really good football. But they really need to work on finishing and defending set pieces otherwise they'll fail to pick up any silverware - again. I love watching them play, but it's so frustrating when they fail to finish off a team like today.

Apparently it was a bit of both; no one had signed him so Roy invited him to train with Liverpool where he did well enough to get a new contract. Makes sense considering the difficulty we've had signing a new left back.

I like how Insua has just carried on training at Melwood, hoping no one will notice :lol Both are apparently with the squad in Germany for tomorrows friendly

Speaking of friendlies, in arguably the biggest match of the weekend Newcastle drew with PSV 2-2. Doesn't make up for losing to Norwich but still :/

:lol Took me a sec to see what the deal was, if this was in the men's the media would be all over it like a hot potato.

Caught the Arsenal match as well, Chamakh looks pretty sweet. Should have killed it off before the second half but whatever.

Definitely, its why we need another quality DM to make us more solid. Hopefully the missed chances were down to rustiness, got Cesc and RvP back which will help too.

By that reasoning West Ham'll be up there :lol, 5 out of 5 for us too, and one of those was against Panathinaikos.

Cole's scored 4 in those 5, hoping he can have a good showing this season - he bagged 10 last season, despite spending a sizeable chunk of it injured. Also really pleased with our signings so far (Thomas Hitzlsperger and Pablo Barrera).

You have to consider that Everton is just crap at friendlies where clubs (like westham) migght be the norm to win all its friendlies before the actual PL season.

Man, Football this season is going be great.

can't wait for the PL season to start. Opening weekend games on Sky are

Saturday 14th Spurs v Man City 12:45
Sunday 15th Liverpool v Arsenal 16:00
Monday 16th Man Utd v Newcastle 20:00

Can't wait! :D

watching the Arsenal v Celtic game today is clear Walcott hasn't been working on his final ball this summer. His assist for Vela was a shot i think, and has got into many good positions only to waste the final ball.

Koscielny nearly made a costly error, Frimpong looks solid and could even start against Liverpool depending on Diaby and Denilson's conditioning.

Think we could line up

Fabianski
Sagna Koscielny Vermaelen Clichy
Song Frimpong
Nasri Fabregas Arshavin
Van Persie

Is there a thread for the new season yet?
BBC sports ticker is reporting that Liverpool have received six bids for ownership and a decision will be made by the end of next week..

It sounds like Kenny Huang has tried to get leverage in the bidding process by going straight to RBS and trying to buy the debt from under hicks & Gillett..

Fucking excited! Finally the stadium will be built and we'll have some money to spend for woy!

I wonder if H&G try their mysterious Syrian bid tactic again? Seems to be all they can do to influence the bidding. Good riddance to the pair of twats.
