But what if someone makes an intentionally funny post? Without smilies there's no good way to say "Hey, that was funny."

Too bad they removed the smileys. They were only annoying sometimes when people would just reply with a laughing gif. Now we get people who actually type out ":lol" for no reason whatsoever.

Then I used to post at a prop board that was even younger than GAF and it was so unbearable I had to leave. The combination of Euro-youth though is incredibly annoying, thankfully you guys are at least in your mid 20s.

My account was just approved, but over the course of lurking this past year my favorite thing about gaf is definitely the members.
There's such a rich diversity of people that contribute to these boards, and there is never a shortage of bizarre, heated, or heart-felt conversations going on. One of the things that convinced me to keep coming back was how you all watch out for one another.
I've never seen a board with such a strong user base like that, and I'm really looking forward to being a part of it.
