What hunting game are you referring to?
Game looks fantastic, so I'm hoping it'll catch on.
Did the original game's PSP port sell well?
I don't know where part of this game screenshot screams monster hunting game. Yes, it is traditional turn based RPG with Rogue Legacy mechanic.LoL. This should be the standard when asking about a Vita JRPG now.
Not that hunting games are bad by any means... it's just over-abundant on that platform.
I'd totally get this game if it's a normal, turn-based JRPG though.
Internal developed/funded.
If it ends up being DD-only and not retail + DD, it might seclude a larger audience. If they want this to do well, we will need to have our options.
EDIT: That is, for the western version. I guess this is mainly referring to the Japanese consumers.

Doesnt Ninokuni proof people want Jrpgs? Or do they mean just in Japan? Cause then you can just look at Persona 3/4.
It come from the Producer Japanese blog. He probably didn't thought it would reach his comment here. Is hardly Capcom "beg us to bring Ex Troopers... Please, we need money"
Why would you separately count updated version? And since you post a lot in PSN thread Flandy, I suppose you already know what this game is since it's more than once Takao and other users post screenshots of Oreshika. None of them, especially the quite lacking cover screams hunting action game.Yeah I'm not actually into Hunting Games so that's why I was asking. We've already got Freedom Wars, Touikden, Soul Sacrifice, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Ragnarok Odyssey, Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, and perhaps God Eater 2 soon. I don't want anymore D:
Media.Vision has nothing to do with Oreshika, the reference to Wild Arms is from Sony's perspective (as they're obviously not going to continue Wild Arms if they aren't publishing JRPGs anymore).

That isn't that many games tbh, that is like 2 a year, and this is the vita's 3rd year. You even listed games that are the the original plus expanded content. It is kind of hard to argue that 2 games from a genre a year is an overabundance.
Everyone buy this please
Does Media Vision tie into this? And how involved were they over Media Vision for Wild Arms?I know, what I meant is that SCEJA will stop producing JRPGs (for the handheld only?) if the game doesn't even sell well in its territory. This dev team is also responsible for Wild Arms so any hope of seeing that will be lost as well if their expectations are not reached.
Doesn't Delta have like an entirely new story and a lot of new content? I just threw in Ace because I had included Delta
While I'm glad they're making this and bringing it over, I don't think they should use a game with themes like this to influence more games in the genre. I'll be happy if it does better than I'm expecting, but I don't think it'll do more than 150k on Vita in Japan (optimistically) and it'll be lucky to reach half that here.
Do your part GAF and buy this damned game when it comes out.
You know I will.
Any chance we get it on PSN?
Is there anything more to go on, other than just a single picture of it's aesthetic?
Besides the localization announcement, i have seen nothing about this game whatsoever.

In addition to this, I think it's mandated by Sony that all Vita games that come out physically ALSO come out digitally. May be the same thing on PS4 too with the exception of stuff like Skylanders. The demo's on PSN now, so there should be a digital release.
Well, the primary audience for JRPGs is generally Japan and the PS4 numbers are tepid there, so there probably wasn't much hope short of Oreshika somehow being the next FFVII against all logic. So a Vita only game decides the fate of PS4 JRPG's.... we are doomed.

Not that I wouldn't want the best regardless, but it'd be the difference between more Wild Arms or more Legends of Dragoon. Or just an Oreshika 3, whichever.

Well, I'll probably buy this day one, if it follows that $30 price tag like Freedom Wars. Would be even better if they confirm a physical release.
At least it could have had high production values with native 1080p visuals.Could be worse, could be a PS4 JRPG in Japan deciding the fate of PS4 JRPGS.
What's Sony expectation for the game? 100k?
I'm sure it doesn't involve the western market. Considering it's not getting a physical release, their expectations should be close to zero.
