‘Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’ for Nintendo Switch races to the top of the All Formats Chart this week to become Nintendo’s first All Formats No1 since ‘Pokemon White Version’ on DS back in W9 2011.

This is also the first Mario title at the top since ‘Mario Kart Wii’ back in W34 2008. There are also new entries for ‘Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3’ from CI Games/Koch at No2 and ‘Little Nightmares’ from Bandai Namco at No4. Renewed stock of Nintendo Switch hardware comes just in time with ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ also benefiting as it jumps from No10 to No5 (its highest chart position since its second week of launch). ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ drops from top spot to No7. ‘FIFA 17’ almost drops out of the Top 10 for the first time as it falls from No3 to No9. There are two more entries that make the Top 40 with ‘Outlast Trinity’ debuting at No14 and ‘Puyo Puyo Tetris’ for Nintendo Switch new at No18.

Why are UK results so early? Don't they usually come on Tuesday with bank holidays?

Zelda #1 in Germany above horizon is very impressive.

Any percentages? up or down
Nice debut for MK8D, Sniper also debuts high, probably will have a big dip next week

Here how Mario Kart 64 debuted back in June 1997 and Mario Kart: Super Circuit (2001). Unfortunately I didn't find anything about Super Mario Kart.

How is Zelda selling more than Horizon on such a small install base? D:

I'm talking about Germany and Spain charts.
Launch title on a brand new console where that's really one of the only games worth buying with it, can't buy a console without any games so your pretty much forced to buy that one compared to a game (brand new IP too) released on a system 4 years later which many owners already got lots of games, backlogs etc no hurry or need to buy this and also in a much more bigger crowded library of games to choose from.

A system with a rather small software selection, a proven IP with a rather big fanbase and a rather absurd attach rate for Zelda nearly everywhere we've seen numbers for.
How is that exactly suprising ?
Also Germany seems to be Zelda for Switch + WiiU, while Spain got the versions listed in a seperate order.

More games to choose from on the PS4 including huge 3rd party games. If someone is buying a switch today, the default purchase is zelda. I am sure your post was just bait but wanted to give a reply anyways
Edit: goddamn beaten a few times already lol

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Finally, Puyo Puyo Tetris makes No.18, with the majority of sales coming on Nintendo Switch.

Awww, damn it. This is what I said several weeks ago, when LCU had a better debut on Switch than other platforms.

Indeed. It's absurd, given the unquestionable evidence represented by this thread that Switch owners are not interested in third party games at all. Probably it's the Yakuza buying all those copies to fabricate demand for the console, just like it's happening in Japan. It'll probably be the only exception for this year though, and we'll see things back to normal with Puyo Puyo Tetris, I'm sure!

This is not normal. This is not how the market should go. Nintendo console owners just cannot buy third party software, it's a scientifically-proven fact. So, there must be other factors in play. Maybe it's a gigantic amount of Nintendo employees, or people merely paid by Nintendo themselves that are artificially inflating third party games demand in UK. Yeah, it can't be genuine demand, come on now. What's next? Disgaea 5 doing well in the West? USFII having incredibly high sales? We must stop this farce, as soon as possible!

It looks like shops in Europe actually got some Significant Switch stock ready for Mario Kart coming out, which has also had a positive knock-on effect for Zelda as people buy the two best games for the console so far.

Long awaited critically praised entry in a hugely popular series, and not exactly a wealth of competition of games to choose from on Switch for early adopters, before Mario Kart it was the only reason to buy the console hence the 1:1 attach ratio.

PS4 has a very diversified install base and a huge catalogue. Horizon isn't going to appeal to everyone, and of those that it does, they're likely to have a backlog and will be in no rush to jump in at launch price.

Won't surprise me if Switch overtook xbone in like 2-3 years. It's certainly possible, because the xbox brand took a huge hit outside of usa and uk.

Am i wrong? Nope okay then keep posting your silly little gifs, i know you Nintendo fanboys need a win after the WiiU.

You sure showed him/her! Can't you "whatever" boys/girls post a reply without labelling people for once? It's getting fucking old.

That's all nice and all but the fact remains: there are more than 3 million PS4s in Germany, while Switch should be somewhere close to 200k, if that? That's a huge difference.

I'm not saying Horizon is selling bad, I'm just shocked that Zelda is selling more on a much smaller install base.

I mean, we already know Zelda has a >100% attach rate. It isn't really surprising. People are buying a Switch for Zelda and some are even buying Zelda without a Switch.

What everyone said still applies here your dismissal isn't cutting it or you just choose to remain ignorant.
Guess if you want to add to those Zelda is Nintendo's major first party IP that's spanned for decades with lots of entries in the series including spinoffs through generations etc everyone including non gamers must know of Zelda by now while Horizon ZD is a brand new IP which when you compare to Zelda in recognition globally it's nowhere near it.

I love PAL threads only cuz my ex-gf use to tell me UK and Europe will always be Sony land, but I beg to differ :p. Great to see that Nintendo is sellig decently all across PAL land. Just need your portable FIFA and PES and were all set right PAL GAF :)

It still applies, but you are conveniently forgetting the size of installed base. Does it really not shock you that Zelda debutted higher than Horizon?

And let's not act like Horizon is some random new game that people are going to skip because lol I have other stuff to play. It's one of the most hyped and well reviewed games for PS4 in recent years.

No and I'm one of those there was too much games releasing for PS4 in early 2017 alone i bought Gravity rush 2, Digimon, Persona 5, Nioh instead of Horizon which i would have but my money went to other games and not to mention my huge backlog too, if Horizon ZD was a PS4 launch title it would be successful aswell but still as a brand new IP not much people would consider it yet while Zelda especially if your a fan of it your going to get it right away, Horizon while i see it's getting good reviews I'm still not sure on this game myself still to put my money on it so may wait on a sale

Well ok, if you think that 3 million vs 200 thousand is not relevant to the discussion then that's fine.

I'm talking about Germany and Spain charts.

in that chart it's combined number for Germany – Switch + Wii U.
Code:
[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/JcayH3A.png[/IMG]
and I guess, all numbers is for retail only.

Also, I'm not sure if Zelda Switch is actually outsold Horizon there, because → https://www.biu-online.de/blog/2017...hsten-computer-und-videospiele-im-maerz-2017/
Horizon was already at 200K as of March 13, while Zelda (Switch) was at 100K

Well ok, if you think that 3 million vs 200 thousand is not relevant to the discussion then that's fine.

so combined with Wii U, it's ~ 1 million
