I wonder if the next-gen version of Fifa 15 will be the best-selling one.

A big drop is to be expected for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions but even so, we should remember that last year they sold over 800,000 units combined. The Xbox 360 version sold over 500,000 units, even with a harsh drop it should still be in the 200,000 - 250,000 range. Will the Xbox One version manage to beat that?

In my opinion, the next-gen versions will be the winners but individually it will be PS4 > 360 > XBO > PS3.

Just as a reminder:

Code:
01 (NE) FIFA 14 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 836,0000 / NEW

Xbox 360 - 509,960
PlayStation 3 - 317,680

I could see that happen in the UK.
Other parts of Europe will probably be PS4 > PS3 > 360 > XB1 (maybe XB1 > 360?).

Hyrule Warriors did great!

Does Disney Infinity have legs like the game has in America? I would imagine that it does, since it's aimed at kids.

Surprised at the success of Hyrule Warriors.

I don't want it to fail, at the contrary, I'm just surprised the market seems that strong for a Musou Zelda game, that's great news! :D

Now let's see how it'll fare in NA.

I'm not sure I'd call Hyrule Warrior's opening a success.
It's not a complete bomb though I guess.

Wonder how Spain and France will recieve it.

I think NPD is it's best chance at sales though, especially if it gets an ad or two.

I thought Spain and France were the two countries where Hyrule had the best chance of charting somewhere decent.

Aren't those the two countries where the Wii U has been selling best relative to the competition or no?

Cool for Hyrule and Disney. Hopefully Disney does better on Wii U in France & Germany.

Wii U title UK debut rank:
Hyrule Warriors - Week 38 - #4 (Below PS4, XBO, & 360 Destiny, but above 360 Disney Infinity 2.0)
Disney infinity 2.0 - Week 38 - #20 (below all other Disney Infinity 2.0 SKUs, XB1 at #18)
Mario Kart 8 - Week 22 - #3 (below PS4 & XBO Watch Dogs)
DKC: TF - Week 4 - #4 (below second week Lego Movie sales on 360 & PS3 & Minecraft 360)
Lego Movie - Week 7 - #25 (lowest of SKUs)

I thought Spain and France were the two countries where Hyrule had the best chance of charting somewhere decent.

I thought it was France & Germany actually.

Spain [and portugal] are Playstation countries. Wii U is doing far better both absolutely and relatively in Germany compared to Spain as far as I know

So a million will be a very good result for EA. or u think it can surpass 1.1 million?

I think with around 2 million next gen console. it should do around 700k on PS4 gen and around 300k on last gen consoles

The next-gen versions of Fifa 15 should offset the decline of last-gen versions but I don't know if they will sell enough to show a sizable grow.

Console transition is being much faster than I would have ever imagined, especially in the UK and US market. Fifa 15 outselling Fifa 14 and getting close to the franchise peak would be really great news for the video game industry.

So...we just got an update from Australia, from the most unpredictable source: an Australian-only surprise Nintend Direct :lol

Up to now, 3DS sold 700,000 units in Australia. Source: NPD Group.

How does that fare compared to other consoles?

So I don't think we get many Australian sales numbers for consoles but for comparison here are two DS data points

DS launched in Feb. of 2005 in Australia and in around 2 and a half years [Sept. 2007] had an install base of ~730,000

As of Jan. 2010, [5 years after launch?] DS sold 2.5M units in Australia

3DS has currently been for sale in Australia for 3 and a half years I think?

So 3DS has sold 30k less than the DS sold with one less year

at the end of 2007, DS sold 988k (Wii also 294k)

edit: also from your link sales through June 2007 are 590k for the DS, damn that thing moved fast

edit2: PSP was at 317k LTD through September 2007, how many months is that?

edit3: 3DS reached 200k in 37 weeks, setting a record for fastest handheld OR console (at the time, who knows about PS4/XB1)

2009 sales / LTD

360: ??? / 850,000
PSP: ~100,000 / 604,000
PS2: ~100,000 / 2.5 million

Thanks to everyone here.

Holy hell at those Wii and DS numbers from 2009...they were really something else, and probably we'll never see anything similar again :( 3DS' performance in Australia can be considered...good, despite being a big drop compared to DS?

The Australian Nintendo Direct unveiled also prices for Australia: 219.99 for New 3DS and 249.99 for New 3DS XL. Australian $, of course. It seems these prices are not that far / identical to current 3DS and 3DS XL prices (3DS XL is priced 249.99 $ in Australia currently, so it's the same price, but I have no certainty about regular 3DS), so we should see a similar pricing for Europe and US as well.

8 out of the top 20 titles on Amazon UK are FIFA15 titles with 6 stand-alone games and two bundles. This is madness.

Cool so that would be at the 2 years, 10 months of the DS's life

3DS launched in Australia on March 31, 2011. So that's 3 years, 6 months

So

DS | 988k sold in 34 months
3DS | 700k sold in 42 months

on the bright side:

3DS | 700k in 42 months
PSP | 604k in 52 months

It's tracking significantly ahead of PSP here at least! lol

good for Hyrule!
Is it me, or Infinity isn't seeing a great debut in GER?
Somehow the Wii U seems still suited for family-kids oriented games.

Hyrule Warriors first in Germany, better than Destiny on PS4?!?

Wow, I was expecting a good debut, but this sounds like a very good debut.

Wait when does the 100k/200k sales award thing come out for Germany?

Usually between the 7th-15th of each month. The one for August was released on the 15th. The awards were

ACIV: Black Flag (PC) - 100k
Minecraft (PS3) - 100k
The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4) - 100k
Tomodachi Life (3DS) - 100k
Total War: Rome 2 (PC) - 100k

Regarding German charts either Destiny sales fall of the cliff even more than normally with big titles or HR sold really really well. Probably combination of both.
