If you look at the graphs above you can see that Germany's software market is shrinking too. Though quite how much in comparison to the UK I could not say.

Anyone have the UK's GBP / EUR values for 2011?

2009 = £1.732, 2010 = £1.53, 2011 = £1.42

Total (billions):
2009 = £3.31, 2010 = £2.87, 2011 = £2.52

These UK figures are retail-only.

Those Deutschland figures are clearly for retail + download, right?

According to my records, if we compare with the (approx) same four weeks in 2011, February was down over 24% in revenue and down 31% in units.

That does include Vita launch, right?

I learned to become very carefull to trust german market data.
A couple weeks ago I got an offer from Handelsblatt (a reputable german financial newspaper) to subscribe to in depth market data concerning the entertainment industry. I was a little surprised to see them market VG-Chartz as one of their main sources...

Like the States, the UK retail market saw spectacular sales of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii several years ago, and since that time Nintendo's sales have collapsed spectacularly.

Then why is the hardcore titles that are down the most it seems?

Everyone's hurting. Hardcore (in general bigger budget games) are seen as a more important loss, however.

Better legs based on what? Sales are down significantly across the board. Positions on the charts don't really mean anything compared to 2 years ago.

We have had nothing to suggest that U2 has gone beyond that first day shipment yet.

Yeah, calling it sonyland would be going a bit far considering DS vs PSP along with 3DS the same week almost matching Vita's launch.

Looking at it. DS and PSP were both anomalies of a different variety. PSP had one of the best handheld launches, but the sales momentum didn't really carry it for too long. DS had a slow start in the west but went on to become one of the best selling consoles ever.

UC2 was on european charts for ages. It was the top selling game at launch ww . It sold phenomenal . I think it sold way over 4,.9m . that 4.9m isnt the updated number

UC3 sold much more than UC2 at launch ww . so no reason why UC3 wouldnt hit 6-8m LTD.
every game is bundled after launch so that bundle thing doesnt hold actually. UC2 still sells in most eb games decently. Like other guys pointed out . Gears 2 was bundled more than UC2 in europe after launch. UC2 sold more than Gears 2 there and stayed much longer in the EU charts as well
