How many lawyers and PR reps did this have to go through before being made public? It feels like it's been filtered multiple times.
Not even that fresh. Unsurprisingly, it's a favorite tactic of the Kremlin. Shitpost until sane folks can't be bothered anymore.to promote fresh ideas about how to be a racist, misogynistic, hateful shitbag online.
In the last 2 lines he says "Still, my actions were my own and do not represent Oculus. I’m sorry for the impact my actions are having on the community"
he takes the blame on himself?
So he admits that he donated money to those guys, but not to the rest of it
C'mon son

To me, it doesn't read like he's apologizing for his actions; only for how his actions reflect upon Oculus and the community. In the last 2 lines he says "Still, my actions were my own and do not represent Oculus. Im sorry for the impact my actions are having on the community"

Well, I guess this isn't over then. Either Palmer Luckey is lying, The Daily Beast is lying, or someone tricked The Daily Beast into thinking they were Palmer Luckey. Hopefully we don't have to wait until next week to find out.

Literally "I'm sorry you were offended" in corporate speak. In the last 2 lines he says "Still, my actions were my own and do not represent Oculus. Im sorry for the impact my actions are having on the community"

1/3 I wanted to give @PalmerLuckey a chance to respond before I posted m.facebook.com/story.php?stor knowing Palmer, I take him at his word.
2/3 30 years in the Game business I would not work in a place that I thought condoned or spread hate. Nor would I remain silent if I saw it.
https://twitter.com/jason_rubin/3/3 I believe games and VR have the potential to bring people together. My view is unwavering. We can make the world a better place.
Can you not? Christ, are you Luckey or somethingNo i am not. He is trying to fix it.

Because he doesn't see what he is doing is bad. That apology makes it perfectly clear he is not sorry but instead the apology is for the way *other* people see what he is doing is wrong.
Maybe they had prior info from a source about NimbleRichMan being Palmer Luckey? Then they went straight to him to clarify if true or not?

It's a pretty serious accusation that will have a big impact on the future of VR video games which happens to be something I'm very interested in.
So, even though it is most likely true, I'd like to see some actual proof before I come to a conclusion because 1. If it's true he needs to be held accountable, and 2. it would be nice to be able to trust a news outlet again.
Also, who the hell posts emails that way? Like if you were posting that screen shot, is that how you'd do it? that's not how I'd do it... I'd put the from line at the top so it was crystal clear that this dude was lying.

So, the appropriate response from someone like me should continue to be: fuck Palmer Luckey---
