Thats another great thing about her, she's not a patronizing character. While she doesn't have as compelling of a main story arc like Makoto or Futaba she has a great Social Link that doesn't rely on her being just an archetype. She feels the most like a straight up normal, pleasant person with shared interests.
On the non-romance side I kinda liked Ryuji's redemption arc for his S.Link, he's a so much better character than Yosuke throughout the entire game.
You have excellent taste. Chihiro is like the only girl in P3. The rest don't matter. Yukiko's color scheme is awesome and her laugh and love of ghost stories puts her on top of the rest. Rise and Chie are close behind though. Makoto has dem thighs.
The only romance option I've seen so far that is believable to me is Ann, really. She's a softie and she just throws the I Love Yous all over the place. She acts like a teenager, too, so it all makes sense and fits in.
Kawakami - okay, that whole situation is kind of funny but it's also just completely stupid and weird in the 'nah nobody can see me playing this part' kind of way. She calls you Master and wears a maid outfit.
Even after she isn't a maid anymore.
Makoto could've worked but her SL is pretty impersonal, it's all about these two other people and could've just been a mementos request, really. Too bad cos I like Makoto a lot otherwise.
With Takemi, I don't really buy for a second she'd be interested in you. I buy that the MC would be interested in her and make a move, and she'd let him down gently and all of that. Also, yeah - I dunno why people are playing up her being a punk/goth. She never talks about any of that stuff at all, she's just dressed up that way cos it was a fetish box the character designers hadn't ticked off yet.
Haven't seen any other romance options, but I'm doing them all as I go along. I'll never be going through this game again, so I'm trying to see all the important stuff and then I'll just look up what I missed later.
Haru's cool.
I wish you could date Yusuke. I want to see what its like when Yusuke turns up the heat.
edit:
oh yeah, and I really like Futaba, she's very sympathetic and actually has a strong personality in terms of the way she talks, which none of the other characters have. However, yeah it's weird you can date her and she's probably the only one I'm not interested in seeing cos I like the family dynamic that's finally grown at LeBlanc.
Isn't futaba the same age/grade as Rise from P4? Futaba should be a first year in hs but isn't because of her circumstance, she did finish middle school and is what 15-16? The mc is 16-17 why exactly if we're role playing as Joker would it be an issue? If we're gonna split hairs most people posting on gaf going after Ann as well are jail baiting since she's 16-17 right?

I mean, let's see here, literally EVERYWHERE I go in the Internet regarding Persona 5 there is one thing and one thing only that everyone seems to agree upon: rejecting Haru feels bad, mannnn, hahaha.

I initially thought this until you actually get to the last few S.Link ranks. Unfortunately it's kind of let down by the end and Ann's link really doesn't feel like it leads into much of anything.
I can't think of a comfier life than running a small cafe while also happening to have billions of dollars so you never need to worry about going under, lol

Ann's biggest drawbacks for me is how romancing her can result in really jarring sequence of events later on in the game, especially during the Hawaii trip. If only the game can integrate romance options much better to the plot........

It's weird that the weird thing about her is that she is so normal. For a series that seems to love archetypes and weird character quirks, the restraint on her character is refreshing.

I'm on rank 6 and Ann feels like that girl in high school you half-heartedly dated just because she was pretty and there was no one better at the time (I swear I never did this). She's just very ordinary. I liked her story about seeing Shiho try to walk though. That was a nice scene.
Her by herself is great but man she adds absolutely nothing to the dynamic of Phantom Thieves. I really wish they did more with her, she just comes in to late and by that time more important plot shit is happening. They really should have done what they did with Makoto and introduce her earlier.
Yeah they should have introduced her like 3 months earlier or so around the school, like how Makoto is introduced earlier and can be seen in like the library. Her inclusion and development feel super rushed and awkward. One of the key things P4 did much better overall.

Yeah well maybe it's just because I got Ann to rank 10 first, but I've done some post-10 dates with everybody except Kawakami now and Ann's the only one who has segments that feel like she actually likes the MC and isn't just there because I hit X.
Yeah it's a bit out of sync with the plot at times, especially cos out of everyone, Ann's the one who would be the least likely to hide the relationship or have any reason to. That's just some Persona laziness for you though, it's equal all around.

There's some evidence that her personality was originally something different, perhaps more snarky/twisted/violent but maybe they had trouble implementing it well so they changed her into what she is. I definitely think it's refreshing.

What I think it comes down to here is agency. Futaba is the same age that Chihiro was in P3 and Rise & Naoto were in P4 but none of those characters ever came across like they were emotionally depended on the MC. Futaba's whole storyline is about how she shut herself off from society and as a side effect, has poor social anxiety and social skills. And not only that, Futaba acts a lot more immature than all the other romanceable female characters. So combine both those aspects and the whole idea of jumping into a relationship with her makes some people uncomfortable.
On that same note, this is also why you see more people critical of Kawakami being romanceable compared to all the other older Confidants (Takemi, Ohya, Chihiya).

Good post, and explains why I went with Makoto. I really like Futaba's character, and I even like her romance scenes, but it still feels a little skeezy.
as someone with autism and went through highschool with people with autism, futaba seems to have autism to me, she didnt start to have poor social anxiety and social skills. with her shutting herself in, made it worse but was not the catalyst, i dont think a normal child would have shut themselves in or that people would have believed that suicide note if she was just a normal child, also the promise list she made with her mother is something you would do to help a autistic child , futaba will probably always be immature and that probably wont fully go away with time
Oh, one more point to add to Haru: I think she's the only character whose Confidant's Link formation, Empress, do not result in a flash-forward to Sae's interrogation room.
Can you imagine what would she say if it does? Lol.
I went rank 10 on her for first playthrough but it was all about Kawakami and Ohya. Kawakami for a steady long term relationship and Ohya because the best times to be had in Japan begin at a Tachinomi.
I will always maintain that Yukari/Chie/Ann is best waifu, though the Mitsuru/Yukiko/Makoto fandom can fight me all day, lol.
I only managed to max Ann, Makoto and Futaba this playthrough (the stat walls in this game are even worse than P3), but I'll definitely be trying to max everybody's link whenever I do NG+.
The Valentine's event when you date every girl is hilarious. I liked it quite a lot, as opposed to the P4G one where they just shame you for ten minutes.

You must have started the link after the interrogation had already concluded. If I remember right Sae says something about having a person on the inside of a major conglomerate (Okumura Foods) that you targeted.

It's as I stated in my previous post, *Late Game Spoilers*
The date of the formation in that video is December so the interrogation has already concluded. Her link opens up at the very end of October so you can still form it while the interrogation is ongoing.

I am quite surprised that they actually went with the whole "dumb blonde" angle, though. I honestly thought that she's not that kind of character, especially considering how they treated her during Kamoshida arc. Honestly? To me it's kind of disappointing.
I'd say between the three, Tae definitely has the best Rank 10 scene. Makoto's Christmas Eve date flows the best with the story. Haru's just a sweetie all around lol.

I agree. I'm a little over halfway in her social link and her arc is pretty lousy.
I thought it would be more about Shiho and her explaining more of her backstory of being an outcast because she is a foreigner and her looks, but so far it has been about her being a ditzy model.
It saddens me because she had a great introduction.
