Persona 5 Spoiler Free Early Impressions Thread

It should but you don't know which way will the reviewers go, you could have one say "it's too long" or something petty like that.

I mean this is a fine criticism for me...i feel like i could play forever but im early in, and the idea that i will feel this interested for 100+ hrs def sounds way too good to be true lol. But mc-wise i def expect it to go higher than p4

That is all.

Good to know have someone I can rely on. I echo your sentiments.

I've only met two girls in P5, but yeah, Makoto easily surpasses any girl from 3 and 4 and the other one in 5 for me. Heh.

It's also partly because I had a wrong impression of her character from the trailers.

She is so stupidly adorable as the game goes on, but in a good way, not a forced moe way.

Played about 12 hours so far. This is basically Persona 4 on steroids. Doesn't bring huge, overarching changes, but a lot of QoL changes. People who didn't enjoy P4 won't like this, but for me, they fixed the two things that irked me the most: gameplay pacing and dungeon design. Game moves at an insane pace, yet, I'm still clocking a bunch of hours. Never feels like the game is wasting your time either.

Don't feel quite attached to the cast yet, probably won't until everyone's on board.

Still early, but this is my GOTG so far if things continue at this pace. Haven't been this engrossed in a game since Witcher 3.

I knew there was a cat in the game due to Morgana being the mascot, but until I started Ryuji's s-link, I didn't realize the game contained a precious pugnacious kitten needed to be protected from the world.

Taken a certain way, your name basically says all that needs to be said here.

That would be taking it the way it's intended, yes. I already know how wrong you heathens are.

Honestly, I've never actually disliked a Persona teammate. At worst, it's been mild apathy.

We gave it a 10/10 at Push Square:

Persona 5 sets the benchmark for modern Japanese RPGs: it oozes style, charisma, and polish quite unlike anything we've played. With this fifth entry, the series' trademark formula of dungeon delving and socialising has been perfected. Addictive, engaging gameplay, incredibly endearing characters, and a consistently rewarding narrative loop combine to create a spectacularly cohesive whole – whether or not you're already a fan of Persona. A masterpiece from top to bottom.

YO peeps.

Felt this thread would be the best place to ask.

I've never played a Persona game before and will be feeling a old school RPG after completing Zelda and Nier.

Will I be lost if I jump into the series with Persona 5?
