Yeah, it's so good. And you ain't heard nothing yetI am listening to the first episode of My Dad Wrote A Porno. How did I just find out about this
The Scientology saga is worth a listen for sure, it's incredible how far they got in the church. I find some of their stuff a bit hit or miss, the episodes where they do deep dives into crazy groups or specific figures are a lot more interesting than the episodes where they get specific treatments done and describe in painstaking detail their visit to whatever facility was offering the service. Their past couple episodes with the end of days religion thing have been super dull as well.Oh No Ross and Carrie is worth your time. Huge backlog of episodes and the subject material is some kind of fascinating deep dive into humanity itself. Who knew fucking around playfully with cults, pseudoscience and religions could get so deep?
My heart skipped a beat when MDWaP showed up in my podcast feed again. My life feels complete again now that #pornoday is back. Hopefully the eventual break between season 3 and 4 is shorter. My Dad Wrote A Porno is back! Anyone listening?

I realized this a few years ago. In particular, I love I can multi-task while listening to a podcast.Anyone else finding podcasts have fast become your favourite form of entertainment?
There's something about putting on earphones and sinking into a good podcast that feels personal and unique. Live episodes lose this effect though and are generally shit to listen to.
So I've been listening to More Perfect, basically a Radiolab spinoff miniseries about the SCOTUS. I think they intended to do a second season at some point, has anyone heard anything about if that's still on the cards?
Radiolab itself has an undependable schedule right now, so I wouldn't hold my breath that More Perfect is coming back soon.So I've been listening to More Perfect, basically a Radiolab spinoff miniseries about the SCOTUS. Slate's Amicus is another similar seriesRadiolab itself has an undependable schedule right now, so I wouldn't hold my breath that More Perfect is coming back soon.
In the interim, though, check out What Trump Can Teach Us About Constitutional Law by Roman Mars. It's kind of similar.
Not sure if these are exactly what you're looking for:Is there a good podcast that goes through the history of ideas? I know the bbc one but I want something meatier with longer episodes. Extra points if it covers more than western ideas/history.

Yeah, your post made me realize this thread is officially over two years old now. Any particular genres you like?Had no idea GAF had a podcast thread. Perfect timing too, because I just dropped a couple podcasts and was looking for some fresh shows.
Sure, feel free. I always enjoy checking out podcasts from GAFfersAre we allowed to mention our own podcasts in this thread? My friends and I (one's a GAFer) started up one a little over a month ago and are just curious.

I appreciate your careful word choice with my talking about TLoU and MP, rather than having finished them. But yeah, thanks for the plug Josh and thanks GAF and More_Badass for letting us plug. It's been quite the labor of love getting the show off the ground, with a lot of learning by trial and error, but we're pretty proud of where it is and looking forward to seeing where it goes.Oh, ok!
So Elliot (Carlisle, the other GAFer) and I used to work at RPGamer back in the day (like...ten years ago lol) and I finally met him back in 2010. He introduced me to his friend Steve, an Irish guy who was in the US working on a visa. We always chatted about games, and it was always kind of interesting since Steve missed out on like the entirety of the 8-16-32-bit eras, so we decided to get him to play some classic games. We all have massive backlogs and we're now just getting Steve into a bunch of games, so we decided to take our conversations to a podcast, called "Rather Be Playing."
Yeah, the gaming podcast market is pretty saturated, but I think we've got pretty good banter (which is a huge chunk of what you need) and we're all pretty good friends. Elliot and I are working through various games and over the first few episodes we've had Stevo play Super Metroid, Zelda: LTTP, and Chrono Trigger (while I've played Doom, Trails in the Sky, The Order:1886, and Elliot's talked about TLOU and Metroid Prime), so he's got fresh eyes without the nostalgia.
Anyway, I'd appreciate any feedback you guys have - I think by Episode 3 we really found a groove. The link below is to the website, but we're on all the major podcasting platforms (links are also on the site under "Listen").

El Tren de la Muerta
You may already know about people like Javier. In 2003, the Los Angeles Times won the Pulitzer Prize for reporting on children like him, the ones from Central America who risked their lives riding The Train of Death to get to the United States. Clinging to fast-moving freight cars, dodging immigration officials, like Javier, they came alone, without parents, money, or the English language. Like all good stories, this one has a happy ending.
I love podcasts like this! Will definitely be listening tonightI just launched my newest show. I'm really proud of it. https://www.voicesinusa.com
This is our first episode description.
I'm producing and editing, and our Host/Exec Producer is Jonathan Shapiro (Goliath, Blacklist, ect)
We picked the 4th to launch since immigrants are the foundation of our society and what better way to celebrate. I'd love feedback, and hope someone of you check it out. I've been working on this for months.

Edit: it isn't available on PocketCasts yet?
We have a great interview coming with Wilmer Valderrama in a few weeks, but this first one was the episode I wanted to start with.
For the last one, you mean history, or personal stories/journalism?Anyone able to recommend some decent podcasts, that are around 20-30 minutes in length surrounding current affairs?
Ideally from a UK perspective.
Alternatively, any other decent podcasts which tell amazing factual stories in that same time length.
It's so good! It's maybe my favorite podcast right now.I recently started listening to Malcom Gladwell's Revisionist History. It is pretty good!

Isn't it just an episode of a new Gimlet podcast?Yo, there's a new episode of Undone! It just hit my free right now.
I think Criminal is the best true crime podcast, in terms of variety and presentation; most others are focued on serial killers, unsolved crimes, etc.Criminal is so good, any more like that?
Oh, it is? Damn.Isn't it just an episode of a new Gimlet podcast?
No, Undone was cancelled back in JanuaryIsn't it just an episode of a new Gimlet podcast?
