New @QuinnipiacPoll: Only 17% of voters support the GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. 56% oppose it.

The fact that the ACHA is coming close to passing shows just how effective the GOP has been at separating themselves from voters.

In what world is it close to passing both the house/senate and being signed by Trump into law?

When does it look worse for them? They can't even get over the starting line? or it gets killed/completely rewritten in the Senate?

From the AP:

Erica Werner‏
@ericawerner

Our AP count of solid "NO" votes on the health bill, as of this moment, now at 30.
They can lose 22.

Would Gorsuch be the first SCOTUS justice to be confirmed with less than 60 Senate votes?

No, Alito was confirmed with 58 votes and Thomas with just 52.

What is Conway going to say or do that would have any effect on congressional members

There was a piece in WaPo recently (or maybe it was the Times) about Trump's babysitters, and how Bannon, Priebus, and Conway will go with him anywhere regardless of how useful or needed they actually are in a situation.

"Republicans always fall in line" is an overly simplistic analysis. One of their biggest concerns is getting re-elected. Even if this thing passes the House, you can be sure Senators are seeing just how unpopular it is. Ultimately the GOP fell in line behind Trump once it was clear that he still had a chance to win despite everything. This seems a lot more like Bush's Social Security privatization plan, which fell apart despite Republicans having a far more functional majority because they didn't want to be saddled with something so unpopular.

At least 200 members of the house are willing to vote for something that is supported by less than 1/5 of the population. I can't imagine this even getting a serious look if it wasn't for the gerrymandering and location based polarization that defines the current house.

This fucking photo makes me gag. Disgusting bastards, every one of them. It is like we took a 180 degree turn in a matter of months because of some backward racists shits deciding that living in a dump wasn't enough, they wanted the entire landfill over them.
