And? The Next was in the URL for the teaser page this whole time. That really doesn't make a big difference.

Just a little new thing...in the picture of that link you see the text "Next...", maybe somebody can connect it with something else. Anyway if you go directly to the page that "next" is not yet there...

Somebody connect it with...

Haha...nice. To that left, see the branch that is sticking out that penetrates the circle a little bit? Could be Raiden's Sword and the thicker tree in the background is Raiden!

Got to be a Wii game. They would not bother introducing a 360 port on the Japan site. Would just save it for E3.

So it can happen at anytime now. Damn. Will be a long day.
My guess is that it will be on the 18th, U.S. time. That's what happened with the Smash Bros. Dojo. It always updated midnight U.S. time and 12 in the afternoon Japan time.

I would actually totally be down for that.

that'd be a waste of time. The original holds up just fine.

Honestly, MGS3 with the control scheme and technical muscle of MGS4 would be a far superior game. A 'next gen' MGS3 would be a better 'game' than MGS4 to me.

If they made it like their original intentions for MGS3, with an open-world-like forest, that would be awesome.

MGS4 was supposed to be like that too, a big open level where everything is dynamic (like trucks are actually driven around by soldiers, cargo unloaded, etc.).

Basically, an infiltration mission in one giant ass persistent world would be awesome.

True, but it's never going to happen (at least not from KojiPro). Kojima's already said that he has no interest in remaking his past games. He prefers to move forward.

If you're only looking at the last two acts of MGS4, sure, but I think the first three acts of MGS4 are the strongest MGS game out there.

you people really think 3 was good and 4 was bad?! 3 was a two hour cutscene with on rails crap and 4 was the best bit of the entire game!

You know that would be pretty sweet. The movie had potential. If they take that angle but use their own original story/characters it is an awesome idea for a game.

Or maybe I'm just high..

But the brilliance of MGS4 is not in each of its acts but all together as the story of snake. If you've been a fan of the series for along time and have played all the games, just the feeling of going into Shadow Moses again and the way it was presented was amazing.

Act 4 was crap too, full of respawning little robots, etc. MGS4 obviously turned out to be more than KP could chew.

MGS3:S was perfect.

-More beautiful and artistically looking than MGS4 thanks to the jungle environment.

-The characters were far better and felt more fleshed out than MGS4. You really can't be the connection between Big Boss, The Boss, and Eva. A nod to Ocelot, too.

-Boss fights were better. Nothing will beat The End fight. Literally took me almost an hour on my first playthrough. The ending fight was awesome with the CQC in the middle of the flower field.

-The music. Can't be topped, except for maybe MGS2's music.

-The Cold War setting. Not that this automatically makes MGS3 beter, but I just liked mood and setting of the game.

To me, MGS4 is the worst MGS in the series. Things I didn't like in MGS4:

-The gameplay, although the camo suit was a nice feature.

-Level designs.

-Art was all over the place.

-Characters. Besides Snake and Hal, I wasn't really feeling Raiden. To be honest, I liked him more in MGS2 than in MGS4. Meryll was annoying. The Beauties, bleh. Sure the Cobras didn't have much of a background, but I liked them more, and The Sorrow was cool.

-Music. Hit or miss.

I thought MGS3 has the strongest standalone story of the series. But gameplay wise MGS4 is far superior. A next-gen MGS3 would be amazing.

Though liked the healing system in MGS3 it could be streamlined to be applied a bit quicker.

yep. maybe i'm just a sucker for snow levels, but hearing the stomping but not being able to see anything and then catching a glimpse of that gecko through the snow at the start was amazing.

oh and the sniper wolf fight with the frogs all over the place was pretty epic

I don't think anyone could argue against MGS4 having the best gameplay in the series. It's top notch in that area. What put MGS3 over the edge is that it's so damn consistent. They hit every note and when you look back at it there's really not an area where you say "Well, they should've done this differently". And best of all, they topped it off with the best ending I can think of in a game. MGS4 only highlighted just how much an ending can change how people view a game.

I liked Act 4 but those robots where annoying. That act would have been a lot better if it had the Haven Troopers patrolling instead of the robots.

Also a lot of people seem to hate Act 3 but I thought that all the gameplay parts in that act where fun, especially the stealth part at the beginning, but I would have liked for there to be a few more gameplay sections in it (I was expecting there to be an escort section with Eva after the boss fight similar to the one in MGS3).

Act 5 felt like it had the least amount of gameplay sections. The part at the beginning of Act 5 is really good, especially trying to get past it without being detected but it felt like there should have been more sections like that. When I first started Act 5 I almost expected it to be like the tanker chapter in MGS2.

MGS3 is still the best in the series for me, but I really enjoyed 4 and would still put it as my favorite game on this generation of consoles.

There was supposed to be an escort mission but it wasn't done. The sewer map exists in the multiplayer mode.

I'm sure they planned to have Act 5 like the tanker too. It was ridiculously short. MGS4 falls apart after halfway through Act 2.

I don't know where it falls apart, but act4 was the best act by a mile. Act 4 was one of the coolest parts of any game I've ever played. Seriously, all the build up in the blizzard,
all the great parts of Shadow Mosses redone
, the boss fight outside, the next boss fight
with vamp (which is great the first time), the split screen fight, then shooting out with REX, THEN fighting RAY
!!!! Even Raiden
stopping metal gear with his junk
couldn't ruin how bad ass that whole act was. I never thought it fell apart, it was a bit insane to begin with and stayed pretty much par for the course. I did think ACT 3 was a bit out of place. I liked it and the one action scene you get, but all the improbable cut-scenes at the end there didn't work.

It...falls apart? Did we play the same game?

I'd agree that it falls apart from the point of view that even though there were a ton of cutscenes in the first 2 acts, there was still a lot of time spent actually playing the game. Where as halfway through act 3 the gameplay-cutscene ratio increases in a bad way.

Agree with all that. Act 4 was awesome.

Oh yeah, that was definitly tangible. I remember feeling and thinking how even for an MGS game, Act 3's cutscene to gameplay ratio was completely out of whack. The fact that there was a save in the middle of a cutscene was insane :/
