It is sort of like how Owen Hart died in a freak accident because Vince McMahon wanted him to do a dramatic entrance coming down from the ceiling of the arena on a harness cord.

Both were completely unnecessary risks to take.

That was the first thing that came to mind, although it was actually Vince Russo who made that decision. It's also something which would have been forgotten about immediately after and not worth the risk, although the same independent contractor was doing the same sort of entrances for Sting in WCW for ages.

People blame the employer in a lot of these cases. There was a pretty big bashlash against the WWF when Owen Hart died for example. I still see people blaming Vince Russo/McMahon for his death to this day.

It's still in poor taste doing it in this thread though.
