I know I'm in the minority here, but I really dislike the new comments format used in Live from Playstation. The word flow is terrible; so many letters are cut off from words and pushed to a separate line. It makes it far more difficult and choppy to read comments. Not worth the trade off of fitting more comments at a time.

Saw a few pages back that the 15 minute recording bug isn't fixed? Is this for real? Absolute embarrassing joke if true.
Liking the update, ready for mp3 support.
How much better is the streaming quality? Did they increase the bit rate as well?
Capture quality only got better simply because Facebook was the main source of footage, but it's still has much better options now.
I'm in a party and every single time I get into a lobby or leave a lobby I get a notification each time stating "The chat audio is currently set to [Prioritize Party]. You can change this setting on the party screen." I can't figure out a way to turn it off. It's annoying.
New comments section looks amazing to me. A welcomed change. It flows a lot better in my opinion.

I had stopped using the share button entirely because it never seemed to work correctly. Today I gave it another try, played Trials a bit and when I finally got gold on a level I was working on, I double pressed the share button and checked the video folder and it was empty. I double pressed the share button again and got an 8 second clip. I played another level and this time held the button and in the menu hit square which saved some random amount of time between the 8 second clip and when I saved using square. So basically either the system is broken or insanely convoluted.
I thought/expect that double pressing the share button will save the last 15 minutes of the game, it seems that double pressing the share button only starts recording or something. It's so unintuitive that I'd rather just not bother with it.
Also, I watched the video it spit out and it looked terrible and the framerate looked very low or something. I dunno, some people seem to have no problems with it but I have yet to have it work well.

The way I understand it double tapping share STARTS a recording. It doesn't save one. Supposedly just entering the share menu saves the recording. I think since the update there is a button you can press in the share menu ( either square woe triangle. I forget which.) that will save a video or screenshot. Apparently you can now just say "playstation, save video clip" into the mic or camera and it will save. You'd think double tapping share would save since pressing share or kong holding share saves a screenshot.

もうひとつ。大きな声で言えませんが、アーカイブは直接youtubeにアップロードもできるのです。内緒ですよ。
Wait, so how does the new Share menu work? If I play for an hour without touching the share button, then I go and click "save video" does that save four 15min clips or is it just the last 15 mins now?
It does, but the words getting cut to another line is not good. Whoever tested this didn't find that unreadable?

It might help if you gave some idea of what that says. I even checked the tweet and the attached picture is just highlighting something in Japanese.hehe retweeted by yosp

Okay, thanks. Edited version of your post is much better, I was about to mention how I'm browsing gaf on my phone and trying to do Google translate is a pain in the ass.Opted to post the original. You coulddddd run it through Google translate. Gist of it is that you can archive streams and link your ustream to youtube so they auto upload there. But they posted it like they shouldn't be advocating this on the official twitter. At least that was my interpretation.
Thank you based Sony. For listening. I was afraid it would take them forever since the problem was so isolated, but they listened. Huge props for that.-Settings - Audio: You can now force the PS4 to output 5.1 channel audio over HDMI even if it detects 7.1 channel support.
Or you know, the system could automatically detect and turn HDCP on and off depending on the application being used.
Its implementation is pretty half assed.

I should try the Barry lyndon Blu-ray because the ps4 couldn't handle it.
Here's my video of the PS4 video capturing not working once again, even in 1.70:

Notice Im in Killzone, press Share, and while a screen shot is captured, absolutely no video is. In fact, it shows a ShareFactory Metal Gear video I had uploaded to Facebook earlier!
(My settings are set to record 5 minutes and the PS4 had been sitting in Killzone over 5 minutes of time.)
Did it keep going into sleep mode?
This may have been mentioned already but I bumped into a new undocumented feature while watching a Blu-ray tonight. You can press the PS button and it will bring up the ps4 ui instead of asking if you want to quit the disc.
Anyone else having terrible audio drop out issues? Mine drops in and out randomly, and high pitched beeps and sounds come out.

I've isolated it to at least my HDMI switcher, because when i plug it into my TV directly the audio seems to work fine through the TV speakers and not drop out.
This used to work fine before the 1.70 update. Also, I hadn't even toggled HDCP on or off. Doing so produces WORSE results.
djskribbles said:Measured the light bar on each different setting. I used a colorimeter and a spectrometer which are typically used for color calibration on displays, but they also measure luminance/light. They're probably not 100% accurate compared to a dedicated light meter, but they should be close enough. I averaged the readings with a continuous measurement between both meters.
Standard/Bright - ~37.9 candelas per squared meter (or 11.06 foot lamberts)
Medium - ~21.8 candelas per squared meter (or 6.36 foot lamberts) - 42.5% dimmer
Dim - ~11.8 candelas per squared meter (or 3.44 foot lamberts) - 68.9% dimmer
So my guesses of ~60% and ~40% lower were pretty close.
For comparison, generally ISF/THX calibrators calibrate flatpanel displays to have a peak white measurement of 30-35 foot lamberts for a dark home theater environment. VA LCD panels usually have a black level measurement between 0.012 - 0.014 foot lamberts. IPS LCD panels usually have a black level measurement between 0.04 - 0.05 foot lamberts.
Yea that certainly seems to be how it works, but not how Sony says it works very strange.
Also tried saying playstation, save video clip/playstation, save video/playstation, save clip but none of those got any reaction past the first playstation prompt popup
Haha I laughed at the vid, but that ain't Killzone.Well here is my contribution, making another video with killzone multiplayer. Love sharefactory keep it up sony.

Didn't have a chance to watch the video yet but did you double tap the share button to mark the beginning of recording? Tapping the share button does not prep the video to be saved anymore. That would explain why video was not saved in your case. Saving screenshots still works pretty much the same and is really easy.
Yes. Very snappy. I like.I approve of the boost to the U.I speed.
Was decent to begin with. Now very fast.
The problem is that the recording of the previous 15 minutes is bugged and sometimes is a completely different video clip from long ago.
Haha I laughed at the vid, but that ain't Killzone.
you might want to tell it to start if you know there is something coming up you want to record. You shouldn't need to tell it to start recording as it is always meant to be recording.
