Sony is losing a lot of respect points for making Plus mandatory for online play and then not being able to keep the subscription process working. Further contrasting the issue is the downloads/updates parts being blazing fast and dependable (I think this part is outsourced and relies on different infrastructure, or so I've heard).

I just got the damn thing today and really wanted to play some multiplayer and instead I spent hours troubleshooting and reading online forums for no gain. Really hoping it sorts itself out by tomorrow evening.

If you're on the SEN website, then that's basically the equivalent. Might as well give up and just wait. Sony is just fucking up but we should all know software is not their forte.

Makes me miss Xbox Live. They had their shit together at least.

I can't believe this is still not working, was really hoping it'd be working by the time I'd woke up - poor show from Sony to turn off such an important thing and then not provide any regular update as to when it's going to return.

What's worse is that I have a copy of BF4 just sitting here that I can't play because I'm returning it after purchasing the digital code instead.

Bought a vita no games and a got a ps plus sub. Biding my time on demos on this fucking doorstop.

Yesterday I purchased four 50€ PSN cards, and I only could redeem one...

Is a relieve that the server isn't working...I was starting thinking about someone keygened my codes or something.

I get the same error in the PC store and the error NP-8154-8 in the Vita Store trying to redeem three of my four 50€ PSN Cards... don't know why yesterday the server let me redeem one without errors... guess I just redeemed it before the redeemtion blackout

Im surprised there isnt a bigger thread on this. Im guessing most people are saving their psn codes.

For us who are new to psn this is a very bad impression.

No idea. It either says card details invalid (which they aren't) or 'there has been an error, can't complete transaction'.

This is the same card I've been using to buy stuff on PSN for years, MasterCard have confirmed they aren't blocking it so who knows?

UPDATE (11.22am GMT, 30th November): We are making progress in identifying the source of the current PSN disruption. Currently sign up, sign in, trials, store, online gameplay, share and community functionality is available. Redeem voucher is still not open to users. Further updates will be posted later today.

Why are some acting like this is PS4 specific? I can't get PS+ right now on my PS3, and I don't know if I will be able to in time for Dragon's Dogma.

Yeah, one here who can't redeem it on a PS3 also. First foray into PSN+, or any paid online console service for that matter, and it's only backing up the reason why I never did it in the first place. Suspected it of being down more than working, therefore not worth the hassle.

I managed to claim mine via PS3 a few hours ago although some people have said it didn't work for them. Weird.

By PS3 I meant via account management and not via PS store.

Well, this shit explains why my brother hasn't been able to redeem his PS+ codes I bought for him. If people have to fucking pay for your shit to be online now, you'd better start matching the consistency and quality of Live already, Sony. No more 'but it's free' excuses. Pretty lame when they should have been expecting such volume and especially when they've been bragging about the numbers and how they've set up all of these deals with retailers for BF deals for PS+ subs. Get your shit together.

You really shouldn't use this current issue against the Plus service. I've been plus for near a year and this is the FIRST time I've seen such a thing.
This all really relates to the current Amazon.com deals among other things, what with everyone now realizing they can get stuff from US PSN for perhaps CHEAPER than their regions. If it were any other time period like say last week, you would be appreciating the service more.

Oh, I'm not holding anything against the service, just describing a bad first impression. I'm not going to come out of the gate and say it's the best thing in the world when I just now got it to working. Time will tell whether my suspicions were justified or not, but upon first impression it hasn't set the tone greatly.

My two PS+ codes didn't work five hours ago on either my PS4 or PS3.

Just tried them again on my PS3 and they still don't work.
(PlayStation Store error message on the PS3: "An error has occurred.")

So.. I'm new to PS+. Is there no option to "buy" the free games without downloading them? It says if I delete a PS+ game I'll always be able to download it again but it doesn't appear I can "buy" it and then choose to download at a later time. So, to tag everyone of these games to my profile for later playing I have to download each one and delete it for now?

PS Plus is a service that pays off in the long run. By the time you've gotten to the end of your 1 year sub, you'll have played games and gotten titles on sales that would've cost more than the actual price of the subscription.

I just redeemed my Amazon PS+ codes through Account Management on my PS3. No issues. I tried for about 12 hours yesterday and got nothing.

Buy it, begin the download, when the downlosd screen pops up, just hit circle to back out and cancel the download.
