Is that what this Crecente guy actually looks like? He looks like a pretentious dick. He should be thrown to the wolves just for that.
I don't think that's Arthur Gies's name up there next to the premature pre-release review for SimCity on Polygon.I don't understand why everyone was implicating Polygon in this entire debacle in the first place when it pretty much just was eagies not knowing when to stop.
Things that should happen to Arthur Gies:

What the fuck, dude.
I think this is a sign of what direction they're going to take on this:

I don't think there's anything wrong with that, it's just a baffling thing to complain about. Any time he's ever written that he didn't like a certain aspect of a video game he's suggesting it could be better, and implying he possess the knowledge to know what constitutes as "better". A statement like this is bonafide shitting where you eat.
I can never take Crescente seriously after the Eegra Spoof

Not really, this is isn't new, and it's informative. This forum's obsession with Polygon/Gies has become as ugly as anything they've done.

Is particular confusing as, like Gies, I too spend my time writing and publishing critique on video games. I mean...he writes for Polygon. He writes reviews. He spends hours playing games, then hours penning reports that aim to analyse the components of said game and argue why they do/don't work. His career at Polygon is doing exactly what he's complaining about: telling people how to make better games.

"I'd like to see you do better" is the weakest argument for anything ever. No I don't have the capacity to make a AAA videogame but that doesn't mean I can't say things that I think are bad about a game.

edit: I said that before Foliorum's post, too, Jeez. Way to grab the brass ring, buddy.

Yeah, that doesn't quite make sense. A critics job is to be critical, not hold back because they couldn't create a better product themselves.
Was Foliorum Viridum permed?
So Polygon is GAF's flavour hate of the month?
"As a games writer" is just so rich. What a useless qualifier if you're ever trying to make a point.
There's a difference between "this works, this doesn't work" and "they should have done X instead of Y and the only reason they didn't was because they're <lazy/greedy/stupid/hate you/miscellaneous other vitriol>."
Crecente's way of talking with Walker kinda makes me want to vomit. It's this form of politeness that you can't really get angry about without looking dumb, but at the same time it conveys the subtle message of "You just own a blog, you aren't in my league". Ugh.
I think it says a lot about someone if they can generate this kind of hate.
