For showing no faith in a group of devs that includes people that helped make Legends. For saying that their resumes aren't good enough for you to believe they can make a game in the mold of a game they helped make. For looking at what they were able to do in a very limited amount of time and writing it off as "shite," while informing us that you're totally a fan of their past work.
Pretty much yeah.very bad idea to release this. some people already have the dumb idea in their heads that what they see in a video game kickstarter should be equal to what they see when publisher funded games are revealed to the public.
it doesn't matter how many times you say "pre-alpha, not final", people will shit on it as if it is a real representation of the game, and that'll set the narrative.

that's part of the big hardship of running a kickstarter for a game that doesn't already have some significant money behind it. you need to ride high on promises and concepts and little else, because people flip out when they see what really early development on video games looks like.Pretty much yeah.
Good fan service for MML fans who want to kick cans again (like me).
But I can understand that most people want to play a demo that will actually be representative of the moment to moment gameplay.
This demo is to early for that.
Red Ash Kickstarter said:1. This mock-up is for you to experience the "feel" of Red Ash. There are Mighty No.9 characters as NPCs, but that is only temporary. The completed game will feature the characters from the world of Red Ash. I I guess you could consider this a digital collector's item ?!
Where? All I see is Roll
Damn, they got desperate. What went wrong with this Kickstarter? I know Kyle Bosman did a video on it, but is that how everyone feels?
This is how we will remember Red Ash, kicking the can.
The saddest part about all this is that Inafune is probably going to take this as people not having an interest in Legends rather than how they have been running this and past campaigns.
Why did they release this. It seriously feels like something a student would make as they come to grips with default settings in Unity.
I'm not saying Hyde are beginners or anything, just... why release this?
Imagine Nintendo releasing a kickstarter for Splatoon but with their tofu build. Who in their right mind would pledge for that.
Try again in a few months, Comcept. The concept was good and should not be discarded. It was the timing and execution of the kickstarter campaign that were wrong. Don't give up on the idea. Just work on it more before you show it again and don't expect the fans to swallow such a rapacious funding scheme.
Make up your own speculation and then take as fact, brehs. This just goes to show how much Inafune takes the backers' faith for granted. The prototype should have been at this stage before the campaign started, and it should have been at a pretty decent stage near the end of the campaign so that they could show core gameplay concepts to people. But Inafune clearly though "eh, they'll shower me with money anyway so who cares", and when that didn't happen, he asked a few guys in the team to just throw together something using basic Unity assets in a few days and then just shipped it. He's still taking fans for granted if he thinks this is anything but a desperate attempt to tick off the "showed off prototype" box for the campaign.
It's kind of insulting really.
Even that's doubtful. The stink of this one won't wear off that quickly.Agreed.
You start this kickstarter in February, and it's funded day one.

Pretty much. They need to quit pretending Mega Man Legends was good or popular.
Agreed.

Wow that's really bad, they should have looked at Playtonic who spent 3 months developing their demo footage for their kickstarter and that looks miles better.
Which is why Yooka-Layee got funded very quickly.
Yooka-Layle has had external funding since before they launched their KS, not a fair comparison.
While I don't know if this will earn back any of the lost favor from the miscommunication and ambiguities plaguing this kickstarter, I'm blown away that they would open up this playable piece of development for the public to toy with. To my knowledge, this is a first for a Kickstarter to do for a game before the funding period has even ended. So behold, the closest, roughest playable "Legends" game we've ever gotten in 16 years.

The idea is still the same. Put your best foot forward rather than throw out this mess.
