RESIDENT EVIL 7 Review Thread

I just played the game last night at my buddy's place. I will tell you right now. I haven't seen Capcom put so much love and effort into a game in a very long time.. Seriously, I really advise that you all buy this game. There's a lot more that this game has to offer from what they showed you in the demo and trailers. You do not want to miss out on this game at all. Gives me faith that RE2 Remake is gunna be in good hands.

Any mention of game length. Hopefully 8-10 hours as is the sweet spot for games like this.

Any more is to much, for me anyway

The reviewer said he did it in about 9.5 hours but that will always vary from person to person. So expect 10-15 hours average, unless you are going to blast through it as fast as possible, then I've heard it can be finished a lot quicker.

Had Extreme Battle

3, 4, 5, 6
Had awesome Mercenaries

Revelations, Revelations 2
Had the equally awesome sometimes better Raid Mode.

This is a reason im worried about 7.
Yeah, same. I'm definitely getting it when it's $30- $40. $80 CAD too much, for me, without those extras. Nioh and Yakuza will keep me busy for a while. I'm glad people are loving it, though.

I'm expecting a 59 min run next SGDQ.

Hey everyone, this is Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer. I have posted on NeoGAF since 2011, and have decided to resign. I have enjoyed posting about horror games here for years, but I no longer wish to support the site and will be leaving for good. I will still be around the internet, I go by AestheticGamer on YouTube, I make games on Steam as Yai Gameworks, and I plan to go by Dusk Golem on other forums. I'll be joining an off-set of the GAF community leaving to try other ventures like ResetEra (Official Twitter for that here: https://twitter.com/reseteraforum ). I hope some of you who read this may consider it, and I plan to try to expose more people to horror games in the years to come. Just not here.

I hope you all are having a good day, and know I always loved the community, and in the end it's the community I'm going to stick with, not the site itself. If you want to follow me, my official Twitter is here: https://twitter.com/AestheticGamer1

Damn that's fairly short though for 80 bucks here in Canada.

Sure. Are you Capcom's PR? Can you be more specific?

I played probably the same section that prior previews covered (until the first boss) and can only agree with the praises, despite a middling intro section.

My heart stopped a beat when I saw the thread title, wasn't expecting a countdown haha

Will preorder if reviews are positive. Does Pure PlayStation hand out 9/10s like candy?

While all of those modes were wonderful they are hardly the centrepiece of the series and the exclusion here is not a deal breaker.

I hate speedrun trophies/achievements but I guess we'll see just how difficult that's going to be. The fastest I've been able to do the original remake is like 6 hours or something.

Somebody in the Impressions thread said that by the end they had collected loads of key items and puzzley items that they hadn't found a use for. They said they were excited to go back for more exploration etc.

The puzzles, the diary entries, the weapons, the ammo rationing - it's all here. Loving it - don't want to stop playing.

That sounds good. I'm actually not one that cares about the ammo/item rationing aspect. Of course, that's certainly not a bad thing though.

Why such pessimistic? You must skip all preview from game journalist weeks before. That reply is really rude mate.
Ehh, there's definitely a "I got the game early and therefore like this game more" effect, it was most noticeable with Star Ocean. It is kinda rude tho
