I'm Jay in this gif.

Fitting end to a legend.

On the contrary, they now have too look for another primary source for news.
This never gets old. I think everyone should take a step back from this craziness and realize its just video games.
Lol. This is hilarious and I can't tell who's telling the truth anymore. Whatever happened to honesty in this fucking industry? Why are they so afraid of admitting to things rather than defending it to death or until someone like CBOAT posts stuff that all panic and say "YES" or "NO"?
I hate how things are portrayed at times.

Why say yes and no, "no we aren't using alpha textures", "no we are not 720p", when you can beat around the bush or make ban bets.
What would be the reason for this?
Fucking Derrick too. How could I forget...
Oh yeah, what happened to Derrick?
Oh yeah, what happened to Derrick?
Holy fuck 792p vs 720p stop the press.
Shinobi loved everything. Going to be a quieter place without him. Godspeed.
Screencap:
Not looking good for CBOAT...the evidence is mounting against him. Mods might have to get that banhammer ready.

i know right lol
all this
over that
IGN can go ahead and print the article about nobody noticing the difference without fear or a care in the world
Whats the fun in that? Sheesh, lighten up
p.s. I don't know how many times it can be stated clearly and officially - both of those claims are false, have been false, and will continue to be false.
I thought it was a bit off too, it wasn't long after cboat posted that Respawn came in with literal smiles asking if anyone wanted a ban bet. Seems fishy.
I do not understand. 720p/900p vs 1080p no one can tell the difference. 720p vs 792p, must stand your ground framerate be damned!
Oh man people are reveling in this, the negative X1 leaker might finally be taken down.
So, with all that said, I absolutely DO believe in Respawn --
but this post completely nails it, IMO. They are dancing around it in a ridiculous way, and in fact it's even a bit disrespectful that, instead of actually giving us the customers the actual info we want only TWO weeks before launch, we get a snide remark regarding ban bets.
This is not ok.
We don't officially know the number of maps.
We don't know what a "multiplayer campaign" is.
We don't know what other game modes are in the game.
We don't know the resolution.
We don't know if the framerate is improved over the beta.
We don't know anything, and all they can offer is that, ONLY after a bad and false rumor, we get denials and snide message board posts, but no ACTUAL information on what the truth is?
The only reason we know so much is because, thankfully, people have been able to extract it from the beta files.
That doesn't sit well with me. Stop trying to obfuscate what the hell is going on with the game. I realize it has basically an impenetrable shield with respect to sales and will do fantastically well regardless.
That doesn't mean your customers should be kept completely in the dark, just because you can.
seriously, such wishy washiness is gross. feeds years of info, gets something wrong and all of a sudden it's permaban talk?
Well to be honest, what freaking game developer gives up ALL of that information prior to release? You know that the resolution is at minimum 792 and they're trying to increase it (patches presumably). You know at least 3 of the modes. You know at least two of the maps from them.
Seriously, stop pretending every other developer reveals everything about their game prior to release. You will be able to find most of that information out in reviews.
Yeah. It comes with the information he gets. Not all information will come from one informant. Some will be right and some will be wrong. Some might be planted to try to smoke him out.
Who knows?
To expect leakers to always be 100% right is absurd.
shit...what if he's knowingly bouncing bad info, because MS is only a few steps behind him? He can always find his way back to GAF if he wants, but if Bill is outside the door with a submachine gun...
CBOAT...I will not forget.

The "fun"?
The fun is knowing exactly what we are buying. Look at what Kojima did.
Clear, straightforward, honest. We know what's in the game, we know the length, and no one had to dig through beta files to do so.
My point is not about whether or not it's been denied -- we now know it has, and that's great -- it's why we didn't know these things **in the first place**, along with all the additional information regarding the game and its contents.
What happened to Shinobi?
Cboat has major cojones to be making a statement like that.
LMAO.
Look at Kojima. Oh yeah. Clear. Straight forward. Honest.
And at $40, still robbing the fanbase at gunpoint.
I'm not "pretending" anything -- it's a multiplayer only game where, officially, we haven't been told the number of maps other than knowing it's more than two. A simple comment regarding "over a dozen" is really all that was needed, if the beta leaks didn't happen. Why is that so hard?
We have been told there's a campaign multiplayer with absolutely zero additional info.
...and that's it.
We know the resolution because people obviously analyzed it from the beta, by the way. No information was given before then.
Yes, other devs and publishers DO tell us more to varying degrees, but regardless the metric shouldn't necessarily be based only on that -- I never said that the industry standard was great. On the contrary, I praised Kojima for breaking the mold and being extra honest.
I'm not even saying reveal everything at all -- I'm commenting on the contrast between the way information is being revealed in a reactionary, rather than active way to the customers.
I don't like it, and that's my opinion. I understand that some people are sold based on just what we know so far, but I don't have to agree with that.
Other devs are setting up a better precedent that I prefer. I don't see why I shouldn't speak up regarding this given the opportunity to know that someone is actually listening.
Especially without any explanation as to why he thinks it's true or why the textures are supposed to get downgraded. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, or at least a fucking explanation.
