Rock Band DLC Announcements

I noticed something peculiar after buying the GonD RB3. I noticed new prefab characters showing up, like a guy and a girl wearing white leather suits and costume masks.

Here's the girl:

Anyway, I finally get curious to see if it was a character someone made on my box and I just didn't notice, or if there were actually new prefabs.. and holy shit there are. None of them have pictures. They also glitch the picture frame and it pops out into the rest of the screen

There's a ton of them, probably around 20 new ones. I googled the character names and it seems someone on the RB forums saw them too. I guess they've been used in preview videos before and they only show up in GonD RB3. A couple of them seem to be remakes of RB2 prefabs. Here's some blurry pictures of them:

Oh wow, I am playing with my custom band all the time so I would have never noticed that...

Trivium and Dream Theater are not as bad on drums as I thought they would be, although the Opeth song is probably most fun to play...got Rush 2112 songs.... will try it later tonight

There is only one Opeth song total. Don't rub it in by saying "one of the."

I could have sworn they had multiple songs and I picked the one that wasn't full of double bass but I must have been thinking of something else, I even looked for them this morning when I was browsing the marketplace...they really need to release the full Heritage album, I would buy it without flinching and it would probably not be too difficult.

I blindly picked up Exodus Riot Act from RBN because they are one of my favorite bands, I should have played the trial first because it's kind of the sort of song I don't like to play :( Very repetitive...It will probably be fun to play on guitar whenever I get a replacement for my broken guitar.

Not to spoil you, but Riot Act is probably one of the least fun songs to play on guitar in the entire series.

The Rush 2112 songs are kind of weird to play, strange difficulty balance lots of breaks and basically kind of regret getting them...maybe I will warm up to them...

The Edgar Winter Group songs are great picks, but I would have really loved to play realtar on Free Ride. Oh well. I have a ridiculous backlog of songs to pick up eventually once finances are straightened out a bit. I still have the Coldplay, Queen, Hall and Oates, and Stevie Wonder packs to pick up along with cherry picking some others during that time.

The guitar chart is horrible. The iconic solo is just...not charted. At all. Instead of a solo we get a few notes. Instead of the dominant guitar rhythm we get a few chords instead. Fuck off Harmonix.

What dominant guitar rhythm? This guy's?

See something odd about that guitar?

My problem with the pro keys chart though is that they insist on authoring vibrato as trills. Not sure how the dude played that on a keyboard, but I'm sure a wheel or pad of some sort is involved. In any case it's not a fucking trill.

Well, it's either going to be charted as

A) a trill,
B) with only half the notes (see Prelude/Angry Young Man).

I don't know about you, but I've recently bought the MadCatz wireless keyboard and got one thing to say: keys don't "rebound" fast enough to make vibratos an option. They're not like the strum bar on plastic guitars.

One of the music videos shows him doing doing it as a trill with his fingers, even though he's using a pedal for some effect

I had download The Entertainer from Rock Band Network before and have a blast playing that on keys. So I decided to get the rest of the stuff by the same guy and damn are they fun. Anyone that wants a challenging song on keys (or guitar playing keys), get some of the classical stuff. Flight of the Bumblebee is fucking nuts.
