All Audis?

19gppsyw8tccujpg.jpg

Haha yes, out of all manufacturers to focus a game on, an all-Audi lineup would provide the least amount of variety possible, at least visually.

Damn that comparison is pretty crazy. Horizon even out-Euros Driveclub. Personally I'm just waiting for the next Gran Turismo, (or a Horizon set in Japan would be even better) but if all I had was a PS4 and I absolutely had to have a new racing game soon I would be pretty disappointed.

Or just people who love cars that aren't on the list. The benefits of a large car list aren't just that you can collect a bunch of cars, but also that the larger the list, the better the chance of people's particular favourites being on it.

Fair point. Although I love racing games I'm not particularly a car person so didn't even consider that :)

Has the P1 done a power lap yet? Also could be that the other ones dont qualify for Top Gears power laps.

Nope, none of them have been on it. Although they did do the Gumpert Apollo S, which did a 1:17. The Zonda R sits at a 1:08. The Huayra is currently the fastest production car around the track at 1:13.

List to see which cars (same or similar) are in both FH and DC:

if you want to play 1000+ cars in a game, you always have GT.
It has far better selection than anything else.

DC focuses on latest cars and mostly supercars. Thats the whole point of the game.

Only one (barely) American car and no Japanese cars is FUCKED UP.

I've been really looking forward to this game, even when it was going through the bad PR phase, because I've liked the developers for generations of Playstation titles. But I can see no possible way to justify or excuse the lack of judgement that went into making this lame decision.

I can only assume the year-long delay cost them so much money that now they have to pass the pain along to the consumer. FUCKED UP. Bad form.

Honestly, and I can't speak for anyone else, there's only a few American and Japanese cars I feel are needed to make a much better, well-rounded list:

American:

2014 Shelby GT500 (Performance)
2006 Ford GT (Super)
2014 Ford Focus ST (Hot Hatches)
2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 (Sport)
2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (Performance)
2014 SRT Viper (Performance)

Japanese:

2014 GT-R (Perfomance)
2014 Lexus LFA (Performance)
2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR (Sport)

I'd be satisfied with just those additions.

The Porsche Unleashed game and the Ferrari Challenge games were a lot of fun for being centered on one manufacturer. The value and diversity comes from spanning through time and also price range from accessible to exotic.

No Lamborghini is strange. No way MS hogged the rights to Lambo after Dan Greenawalt cried about EA hogging Porsche...

Unless that is the strategy to cause a cross license deal later. Nab a big exclusive you can use as a bargaining chip to erase the competition's exclusive.

I can't believe people are arguing against more content. Let's just make DriveClub a sequel to F355 Challenge and have only one car but it'll be the best looking car ever.

I'm not surprised. With all the juvenile nitpicking being thrown at this game recently I knew that when this was eventually revealed it would be something people would actually be able to sink their teeth into.

Really poor list. No Japanese cars? The omission of American cars I can forgive since they're awful but the Japanese make superb cars!

Also lack of Jaguars is a big problem

Any car collection lacking the Nissan GTR can't be considered "Latest cars and mostly supercars"

Heck it's got the freaking A1... That's the most feminine Audi available. Why no A3?

What kind of logic is this? Less content is never a better solution.

Por-Que-No-Los-Dos.jpg

I'm not advocating less cars, I'm advocating different cars. If there was the token Evo and Scooby, then we'd lose two of the existing roster. Considering I've driven Evo's and Scoobys a thousand times in plenty of other driving games, it makes a nice change to have different cars take their place.

Hard to tell who is really unhappy with this list and who is just trying to make veiled fanboy FH posts.

Obviously more is better when all else is equal, but the sum of all these games is not the list of their cars. 50 cars is a pretty good selection, and if you consider they are adding 38 more cars it is close to 100 cars. Considering the detail they have put into each of these cars, that is pretty impressive.

It is certainly arguable that it would have been more ideal to have a more regionally diverse car list, but financially this makes more sense for them I think, and that is fine with me. By keeping the other regions specific packs you can add to the game later, it allows users to select the ones they care most about and makes them more enticing in general. If we already had 10-15 cars form each region, it would be less enticing to buy "more" cars from that area.

On top of this you won't even have to pay for about 10 more cars, and I would bet those new free cars will be from these other under-represented regions.

I know the paying to get more content thing goes over poorly in general, but they are certainly giving you a ton of content for a pretty reasonable price (24.99)

The more I think about it, the more it seems disappointing. There really should be American and Japanese cars available from the get go. Also, weather seems like a pretty big part of the Evolutions' vision, so that should be there day 1 also. The game looks phenomenal though, and the driving gameplay looks top notch. I can't help but think that the car selection is also narrowing down the size of the audience.

I think the majority of people are OK with paying extra for more content, but not if it should have been in there in the first place. Driveclub is very light on cars, so any sort of car pack in the future will be criticized.

It would be like Advanced Warfare launching with 4 maps and then selling the rest as DLC.

I don't mind paying for extra content if there already is plenty of it in the core game. I knew that Driveclub would be light on cars but I expected more than this. 50 (+9 to follow down the road) is not much, especially when you consider that this is Sony's big racing title and has been a year delayed already.

I've got my copy pre-ordered but I most certainly won't be paying a single dime for extra cars.

It's totally lame that there is no classic cars, I hate that shit I really don't like modern cars and prefer the classics but oh well I guess.

Has there been actual confirmation that future DLC will include cars from American and Japanese companies? I mean, I would assume yes, but I also would have assumed they would be included in the original game!

The C7 Corvette and Z28 Camaro are some of the best cars you can buy

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
Probably needs a few more cars in some of the classes to add variety (going to be races dominated by 1 or 2 models, this even happens in larger lists though). Other than that it's a fairly decent lineup.

Hopefully DLC is more varied in manufacturer regions though.

Wasn't The Crew announced way before Horizon 2? The Crew is in development hell.

You're probably right though, and they're just saving it for DLC.

Lamborghini Pack makes sense but remember when Ferrari was in Forza and everyone thought MS brought out the rights, especially when Shift had MS exclusive Ferrari DLC?
