I think he is confused. Gamestop has 1 year of PS Plus on Black Friday ONLY for $29.99.

It's free on PS+, but PS+ is only free for the first two weeks it seems the purchase of a system. They'll eventually rotate it out though.

I heard him say it was free for all PS+ members and that everybody who buys a PS3 will get 2 weeks free PS+; therefore, everybody will be able to get this game for free.
I didn't hear anything about it going away after the launch window.

It will likely be available for the better part of the first year. Launch years are crazy, its like re-launching each qtr.
