YES.
Microsoft should have delayed it a year until Fall 2018, add a far better CPU and start a new generation. To me, Xbox One X is only going to do one thing and that's make them lose twice in the same generation which is also a first in gaming history. Microsoft is in no way, shape or form ever going to catch up to Sony's PlayStation 4 so why not start a new generation?
Microsoft could had an excellent launch lineup (State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4), a far bigger catalog of backwards compatibility games since it would also include Xbox One games.
Despite owning a PlayStation 4 Pro, im not a fan of mid-gen consoles whatsoever. If it wasn't for the fact that the console was basically free, I would still be playing on a base PS4. Also think that 4K/HDR, etc. at this point is overrated because it's still in it's infancy and some of the support for this stuff, especially HDR in more games than not is a joke.
Mid-gen basically rushed everything for no reason whatsoever. I have zero interest in X and to be perfectly honest, Horizon Zero Dawn looks easily better than any X game (exclusive or not).
Was really hoping that Microsoft was going to delay Scorpio and basically make it Xbox 4 but oh well, no biggie as I still have my Xbox One Slim boxed and sitting in my closet until the few exclusives that I want to play are released in (hopefully) 2018.
November will most likely belong to Microsoft since all the pre-orders will be added in but after November, I can easily see the console's sales decline and lead to a $100 price drop by E3 2018.
Sony should completely undercut X by making Pro $300 with an Horizon digital copy included for the holiday season as it's a far more compelling purchase than X at $500 with no packed in game would be.
Sorry but after E3, I lost all hype and interest in X (stupid name by the way...can't wait to see/read reports of people who wanted an X get an S instead, lol) because quite simply, nothing impressed me at all. The two games that did were multi-platform games in Anthem and Metro Exodus.
If anything though, better for me personally as I save $550 ($330 of which can go to my Switch next year so I can own all three consoles and still be able to purchase four $60 ($48 GCU) games.
Funny thing is that pre-E3, I was 100% all in on Scorpio but the price tag, release date and State of Decay 2 being delayed and not looking great whatsoever anyway pretty much ended all my interest in it to where I would rather just keep my PS4 Pro as my primary, Xbox One Slim as an exclusives console and purchase a Switch early next year.
Sorry for the long post/rant but Microsoft does nothing to get fully invested and interested in their eco-system despite Xbox 360 being my primary console last generation. For me personally, keeping X connected to Xbox One brand is/was a mistake and just deflated all my interest. Oh well. Maybe I'll get back that interest once Microsoft releases X2 or whatever the hell stupid name they can think of in five years from now.
