someone don't know how to use this thing
You sure about that or are you just jumping the gun to blame the user?

Fuck, that's unfortunate. You'd think that this kind of problem would have been detected during wear testing?
As soon as I start the game, it de-syncs the Pro Controller and will only let me use the Joy-Cons.
This thread is making me scared to touch mine. Jesus.
I was very skeptical of the image in the OP. But after watching Blunty's video, I think there is some truth to it. The scratches shown on his screen are much more believable. Ended up ordering the tempered glass screen protectors from Amazon.

I have a bunch of extra microfiber cloths so I might try taping one on the side of the dock that the screen is facing.

This will not likely fix the problem if your sensitive to scratches. Since the dock sits out. Over time the cloths will collect dirt and other particulate matter and then basically act as sandpaper to that soft plastic screen.
Basically think about what happens when you take a microfiber cloth to your car's paint if you don't use soap and water. Uuuugggghhh.
what the hell, no guerilla glass? Switch revision can't come soon enough...

I knew it since I first saw how the dock was built. Get your screen protectors asap
It was. But they didn't have the time to fix it.
For people looking at the glass screen protectors the only thing to look out for is their cut. Try to read reviews to see if they go all the way to the edge. Bad ones may not cover the whole screen.
Aztechnology took some pics for us with this tempered glass screen protector from Amazon applied. Looks like a pretty good fit.
I suggest those of you concerned and waiting on a solution use one of the white foam envelopes and cover the front cover with it. One of them is just wide enough to fit, basically slips on like a pillow case.
It's a temporary solution but it's one everyone should be able to do.
Revisions are usually made with cheaper materials not better. Unless it's a more premium one.
You're welcome, glad to help.Just ordered this, thanks
So many things about this system are really poorly designed
-plastic screen
-kickstand functionality
-heat issues
-dock scratches
-charge port on the bottom
Switch Ambassador.
Joke aside, this is terrible in part from Nintendo. It's the 3DS all over again.
Heat issues?
I went ahead and ordered that glass one posted earlier. I hope it's not too hard. I cannot for the life of me install those damn things. I never tried a tempered glass one before
For the love of god, you can have cheap plastic capacitive screens. How can plastic scratch glass?
Or is it switch screen resistive again?
I find them a lot easier to install, and the bubbles dissipate over a few days.
The switch isn't really that snug in there and kinda wobbles a bit. I might glue some padding or microfiber in the dock anyway.I wonder if there's enough give inside the dock to attach a thin piece of microfiber.
Hope so. I'm having flashbacks to trying to put the last one on haha
I find Blunty to be a pretty reasonable guy. He also has scratches on the bezel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUZ-Icqhemw
NEWS FLASH
i'm not getting any scratches when sliding the unit in and out
Grips doesn't charge it? Buy the charging grip.
