So how about that heatwave this week in California?

Those with central A/C what do you have it set to this week?

Pretty much always keep it at 76, but sometimes bump it up to 77 mid-day. Crazy expensive though, apparently running the central A.C. uses more power than running three microwaves at once.

Edit- I'm in North Hollywood for what It's worth.

got my AC at 75, the struggle is real. House hasn't been below 85 since about 1 pm. Think it may need to be looked at.

Been in the mid 80s here in San Diego. Haven't even had the need to turn on the A/C this year yet.

Eh, not as bad as the summers in Sacramento I use to go through. No A/C and no chance of going to the beach to cool off.

This is all I want to do tomorrow.

Usually, don't run the AC when I'm not home, but with my cats in NoHo this year I imagine I'll have to keep it set to the mid-high 70's so they can survive through the day. These last few days I've left it on for them in my bedroom, it's like a saftey room for them to hide out from the death trap that is the rest of north hollywood right now.

Redwood City was almost 100 degrees F yesterday and it felt like hell

Fuck man. I feel you RWC here too, I basically couldn't sleep last night.

Tonight feels a little better, there's a nice breeze coming in that should keep up a bit cooler today. Thursday is gonna be brutal though. I also have to head inland tomorrow. That's gonna suck.

Ugh. My apartment's AC sucks, too!

I hate that the year I move to NoCal from SoCal, a horrible heatwave strikes and SoCal is cooler. Of course, this happens.

Well at least we aren't in the triple digits like on the weekend so that's good. Thursday should be the worst this week.

The best part of it all is that this Wednesday it's gonna hit us the hardest in Tucson.

I have a 3 year old, 5 ton AC unit that broke down today (TXV broke), and it's cost me $1500 to get that shit fixed.

If I shopped around I'm sure I could've had it done for less than $1000. But in this heat, it's not like I had much of a choice.

fuck this weather.

This should be my last summer in Phoenix and it is making for damn sure I never forget it.. can't wait to move north to the cooler climate..

Someone shoot me......with a super soaker. Its like, 5 seconds after walking outside, all of energy is just zapped away by the heat. It's like pre heating the oven when cooking a pizza, and you open the oven door, that's what it feels like to me.

Welp, I'm gonna go play some poker at a casino where it's nice and cool lol.

Lucky me got an internship this summer, 8 hours of free AC

And this Sunday we learned our house's AC broke, so the rest of the family spends basically the whole day in the pool.

So now my room is an oven, and I need to buy a new screen for my door so I can cool it down some

31C is a heat wave? Please, add about 50% more humidity in there

On other note, anybody in Arizona right now? Its freaking 40C there at 9pm

It certainly doesn't help that I work in a kitchen so it's out of the frying pan and into the fire when I leave work -_-'

Sunday in SJ was horrible. I had my ceiling fan, standing fan, and AC on in the house and it still never got below 86. Went out to grab some milk tea with some friends and felt like dying.

Thursday is shaping up to be another 100 day ): I was just in the Dominican Republic/Miami two weeks ago and I can't believe I'd prefer that humidity to this shit.

Projected to be 119 here in AZ tomorrow.

119.

Yes. They're real. At least I live in a cooler area!

lol

We all pay ridiculous amounts to AC here though. It's literally a necessity. My girlfriend's house, a new house with good insulation l, got over 90 INSIDE when her AC broke a couple years back.

It usually gets to about 90 inside in my parents' house in Sweden on the really hot days. No one has ACs there and the houses are built to trap the heat. It's worse than any mediterranean, African or South American heat I've experienced. The only place worse was a spot in Japan tbh.

It was motherfucking 121 degrees in Tuscon today. Went through on a road trip. The 30 seconds I had to spend outside going from the car to Starbucks was an absolute hellscape furnace of pain.
