Yeah he knicked that in the butt before it took off. That Wii stuff for virtual console is interesting....I am starting to see that Nintendo knows what it is doing this generation. Not that I didn't already see that. Congrats Mr. Iwata.

OK, so we have:

1) Pokémon Battle Revolution for Wii and this could sell huge in Japan, because Pokémon Diamond/Pearl will ship in the same period.

2) Wii's console will generate only a little bit profits, but Nintendo will not sell the machine at loss. (Exaclty like Nintendo DS at first).

3) Nintendo DS's games are selling huge in Japan and Nintendo must increase production form 1.6 millions/month worldwide to 2.2 - 2-4 millions/month worldwide (STRAGULP).

4) Some other details about Opera Browser, Pokémon Diamond/Pearl.

Not bad for a simple meeting.

Battle Revolution looks like an upgraded Colloseum, still waiting for a proper mmo type Pokemon game on Wii, I don't think they'd release it this early with Diamon/Pearl being released on DS. If they are even considering a full blown Wii Pokemon game at that.

I guess it's Pokemon Stadium all over again, this time online. With some tournaments or a ranking list the Japanese would eat it (I WANT TO BE TEH BEST IN TEH WORLD and so on)

Even a Pokemon Stadium redux has the potential to be awesome with online properly intergrated. A full-scale RPG with online elements or MMO would be awesome-er, though. :(

Are those neon lights in the background of that pic? Having large Tokyo-esque metropolitan environments in Battle Revolution would RULE!! As far as I know, such a locale has never been done in a Pokemon game.

And yeah... WOW.

Ugh... another Pokémon Stadium type game. Graphics are nice and all, but this formula got boring after Stadium 2.

For ****'s sake Nintendo when will you release a true 3D console Pokémon adventure game.

When Game Freak decides to develop one. If they do a full-on Pokemon adventure game that is faithful to the franchise formula, no one but the game's original developers should be in charge of it. With any luck, Battle Revolution could be a stop-gap solution for the people who want a Pokemon game NOW, while Game Freak etc. are crafting a Pokemon MMO... or something.
