What you guys think about this? I am a member on another forum and this same topic came up but there is debate going over there about what this one member said. Here:

I love the feeling of extra testosterone, sexuality and confidence it brings. I strongly believe women do notice your drive and they are attracted to it. I hate the feeling of busting a nut, I feel lazy, unmotivated and have more anxiety. I don't even want to orgasm when I'm fooling around with my girlfriend.

I might be wrong but isn't watching porn and then not masturbating frustrating?

Okay, so if you are watching porn and not masturbating you are still viewing and processing the erotic images and videos. You are getting aroused by these images and your brain released dopamine which is a pleasure hormone aren't you desensitising your body to seeing naked women? If say you watch porn when you have to get an erection first, what if you get to the stage when you have to see thousands of women doing various sex acts to maintain it, won't this affect your ability to have actually sex with women?

The reason I would argue this is when you concluded: "I don't even want to orgasm when I'm fooling around with my girlfriend".

Member A responded: It's not really frustrating, I'm not sitting there like a statue. I'm jacking off but there is no intention of having an orgasm.

It is releasing dopamine, there's no question about that. However, avoiding an orgasm decreases the value of the orgasmic reward hence resulting in less desire to use porn. Yes, there's still going to be a desire to watch porn occasionally, and there's nothing wrong with that. However, through other activities I replace the lost dopamine.

It's not a perfect solution, and it is desensitizing my body. It's just a stepping stone to curbing your porn use, that's all it is. Eventually my porn use will almost be unnecessary.

This is the key principle - A lot of desensitization comes from high porn use with a high orgasmic reward. However, in this method you trade this for less desensitization through less porn use with less reward as of no orgasm. As I said, this results in less and less need to watch porn. You can rewire your brain if you adopt the mindset which follows; no orgasm unless it's with a girl. And that's what I do when I feel like an orgasm. It's all about training yourself into a way of thinking.

Take a dog for example - It learns tricks through the reward of a treat. But if you take away that treat it's a hell of a lot harder to teach it tricks. The human brain has the same primitive reward system.

Also, I don't have any problems getting an erection or having an orgasm with my girlfriend. I simply don't like the way I feel for the next few days after an orgasm. If I feel like having an orgasm with her, sure I will".

That was the end of the discussion. What you guys think of Member A viewpoint?

yea i agree, sounds like junky behaviour to me. even if his method works, its gonna take easily five times longer than going cold turkey.

I certainly agree he is coming up with a technique to hide behind the fact he doesn't have the power to withdraw from PMO.

Will looking at photos of females on social networking sites (yoga pants or in sexual arousaling clothes or positions) be considered pornographic in a sense during this 90 day challenge? As in should I be avoiding those photos?

Yeah. Sex is good with your partner or with various girls (one night stands). But masturbation, porn and fantasy is certainly out of the picture when doing this 90 day challenge.

Had a lapse of weakness the other weak; after realizing the "reward" wasn't quite as rewarding as the lack of it made me believe, I think I'm going to legitimately cut this to once every week (as studies have suggested that's when testosterone production teeters off). It ought to help with my fitness regimen, the more testosterone the better.

Dude stop being weird.

Just stop looking at anything that will act like pornography (ie. stimulate you sexually) for the next 90 days. Stop coming up with loads of rules, caveats and loopholes. This whole 90 day thing is really simple in concept; no need to make it complicated.
 
Went to a fashion show last nite and I was literally drooling all over the place. Goddamn girls why you gotta wear dresses that barely cover your pelvis.

Still strong, this is the longest streak in a while. My balls are rigid. Sundays are a tough test 'tho.

I've been doing this for a few days just for the hell of it and I think I should give up. I started doing this to "stir" myself and yes it works, but my attention is constantly distracted by my screaming balls so it's not effective at all in my case.

I'll give it 2 more days.

So I woke up today and decided to play a video game, where I got my ass handed to me by the final boss twice. I came to a point where I felt I really needed to let off steam by jackin' it, but I somehow swayed my hand.

Now, I've been using it as a stress reliever before, but actually saying no felt so good. I just asked myself whether or not it was worth throwing away the past 8+ days progress, due to some mild raging. I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future.

I'll eventually go back to jackin' eventually, I just need to stop using it as a resort to get around minor obstacles, (raging, sleeping, etc.).

It's tough man. I'll go a day or two and then just be like, ahhh screw it. Gets way harder as time goes on.

Part of it is I have a lot of free time in college. When i go live with my family this summer I'm not going to have any time to jack it and really no privacy to either.

But yeah, i find keeping myself busy is the best thing you can do. Go to the gym, get on a bus and go somewhere, go hang out with people. Don't stay on the internet for hours as it degrades your will power when you know it's right there.

So I saw someone mention this in the dating age thread and decided to give it a try. I'm one day down now, but I usually start freaking out around the second week of no fapping, I never lasted long in the contests but I'm going to give it my all this time.

I'm not sure but if it is i won't be following that rule. I'm doing this to see if it can improve certain things but i feel like that would be going against what i'm trying to achieve. I also don't think this is worth it if you have to cut sex out completely.

brace yourself, it wont get easier by the day. im nearly at 60 and last night was way beyond easy (....damn you game of thrones, so much nekkedness) but i guess after 2 month in ther is only one direction to go
 
Up to day 8 after failing an initial run on day 3.

The hardest part is avoiding using it as a means to deal with stress or get to sleep, both of which are things I've had trouble with lately.

I was watching Game of Thrones last night and the sex scenes did absolutely nothing for me at all. Desensitized much?

Started this a few weeks ago and i have to admit i do like the results. It wasnt even that hard, as i was already getting bored of porn and i have plenty of things to do. Also, it owns to get aroused much easier, although the average episode of Spartacus was quite the test. :lol

Masturbating to porn is bad because it leads to an addition to it and dependency on it. I am a witness to this.

Masturbation itself, the act. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

All I know is masturbating for me will lead to orgasm and the effects after orgasm suck for me. I experience laziness, social anxiety, don't want to talk to any girls or anyone, don't feel like being bothered. I feel drained completely after an orgasm. (low dopamine in the brain means lack of doing anything)

I know it's different if you have a partner because then you have someone to hold and cuddle with after than orgasm. So the neurochemicals in the brain can release pleasure to make you feel good along with your partner. I think that chemical is called oxytocin.

I understand that. I remember doing this challenge last year before Thanksgiving. I lasted till Febuaury something of this year (2012). After that I just could not seem to get back in the grove of doing this challenge. It seems like everytime I get to day 3. Either a TV commercial, one of my friends send me one of those naked porn like text messages of some babe with big breasts, a movie or photos of girls on social networking sites. Those would lead me to binge and once that happens the inevitable happens and I'm back to square one again.

With porn blocked off on my computer this has been pretty damn easy. Only times I've gotten hard today were from reading texts from my girlfriend, but I declined to do anything about it. Granted, it's only day two, but I'm feeling pretty confident about my chances.

Starting week 2. No problems at all, so we'll see how far I can stretch this but I don't plan on taking this farther then day 90. I didn't have any problems, but it did became sort of a habit I did every night just because I was doing it. A routine. So no more.

Morning wood is still there, so that's a good sign.
