The Insert Credit Podcast is a thing, a lovely, lovely thing.

Summary: Tim Rogers, Frank Cifaldi, and Brandon Sheffield say funny, informative, and/or intelligent things about video games for 60 minutes, 1 6-minute segment at a time! Has anyone listened? I like it.

Look, I adore the Player 1 Podcast, The Cruncheons, and Warning; A Huge Podcast as much as anyone. I get my Ray Barnholt fix through his all-interests podcast, and I spend time missing Todd Zuniga on the worthwhile 4th String Cast. I still miss the spell when we were inundated with clever, intriguing analyses, and I know lots of others feel the same. Shawn Elliott could charge people to read things in the Whiskey Nerd voice and have a nice secondary income stream. I have a poster of Chris Kohler looking coy on my bedroom wall. WE ALL LIKE PODCASTS.

Guess what? The wonderful people at Insert Credit decided to fill that empty space! They answer 1 question every 6 minutes for 60 minutes. Here are 5 things that you get:

Brandon Sheffield being extraordinarily thoughtful and reminding us that he is abandoning Game Developer Magazine and Gamasutra magazine soon.

Frank Cifaldi bringing his vast accumulation of games knowledge as he used to do at 1-Up.

Tim Rogers growling and telling stories and being droll and acting slightly removed because he is incapable of doing otherwise and you should love him for it. (Action Button detractors: http://insertcredit.com/2012/06/01/...nce-in-san-francisco-california-by-tim-rogers . Come on. Especially the Yoshiro Kimura story. Come on.)

Alex Jaffe. Alex is new. He seems nice.

A deafening buzzsaw noise to signal the end of each of the 10 6-minute segments. You will take 2 things away from this podcast: video game facts and a faint ringing sound.

If you like those people, you should listen to the podcast. It's exactly what you think it would be, as it includes things like "177X: American History Evolved: Revisionist History Is The New Zombie."

there's ALWAYS ONE
I really like two-thirds of the show (Cifaldi and Sheffield), but on the other hand, the other third is pretty awful.

I'll give it a listen though, as I miss hearing Frank Cifaldi on podcasts. A username/password dialog box is appearing when I try to use the direct links though, which is irritating.

I like Player One podcast. I'll download this and give it a listen when I get in!

Frank = Chris
Brandon = Greg
Tim = Phil
Mike = old

Roughly speaking.

The 1st episode has the right XML/iTunes link which isn't broken. Download both through there.

Listened to Ep.1 - it was pretty solid to be fair!

Ep.2 has already blown my mind. I never knew Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee were based on Mr Chan and Mr Lee respectively.

And yet there is no capoeira master famous enough to get namedropped for Hitmontop. *sad face*

I finished 2 a bit ago, and I'm glad to see they're improving already!

I'm liking the podcast so far, but I can't stand the sound that separates segments. It scares me every time it plays. I love the idea of separate segments, but I wish the sound were a little more subtle.

LOL! I had the exact same reaction while driving home. When the godzilla scream happened I was startled and then started laughing at how absurd it was. I really like the setup of the podcast so far. It helps topics amble along and keeps it fresh

Yeah, this has been brought up to The Dudes.

They're all pretty funny when you can get Tim to not talk about himself. Which is hard but they all seem friendly. The Revisionist History bit was great.

Alex is the king of lists.

tidbit: That scream is from the game ZiGGURAT for ios. It is fun. Usually.

I'd bump it up to "nearly always." Though I definitely like Tim Rogers more than most people, I can assure everyone that his game is good enough to combat any preconceptions you have about his perceptiveness or personality. The man's a tremendous worker.

That one episode of Retronauts or whatever that had Tim on it had me laughing so hard I was in tears... it was amazing...

Hey, everyone! A podcast is here. I couldn't have said this any better:

Insert Credit said:
In Talmudic Judaism, there is a principle known as “Chazakah”. This principle dictates that if something occurs three times, it is safe to assume that this occurrence has been established as the status quo. By this token, the Insert Credit podcast is now an irrefutable facet of our reality!

I now have 5 video game podcasts that are regularly worthwhile. It's like the 1-Up glory years!

Okay, now it's up to people to find it themselves!

Tim Rogers' Dyad advertisement: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/07/17/dyad-will-blow-your-mind-today

With that in mind, we hope you enjoy this hour of content featuring Dyad creator Shawn McGrath (and, of course, frank, tim, and brandon) as we discuss:

1) Weapon design
2) MMO methadone
3) The Johnny Wadd of Video Games
4) Dyad: The Animated Series
5) Killing Kingdom Hearts
6) Dreams of a good Superman
7) Finally getting that hedgehog
8) Spe Cops: Theline
9) Making a living in the video game industry
10) The band which influenced every early video game composer

I'm going to guess 10 is Yellow Magic Orchestra, WHICH MEANS SOMETHING SOMETHING LOVEDELIC.

Enjoy! The podcast's definitely cemented itself in my favorites.

This isn't a bump. I genuinely just want to talk about the "generic role-playing game villager dialogue" lightning round with someone. Whew. Sore sides.

New one is out. I'm too lazy to link to it, you know where to find it. One thing: The sound cuts out a lot this time around. Bah.

Get ready for fun! This week Insert Credit’s Official Hollywood Correspondent Vito Gesualdi joins tim, brandon, frank and myself to discuss such delightful topics as:

1. Nintendo Power
2. Visceral Games’ Don Quixote
3. Cute ‘em Ups
4. Gabe Newell vs. Gabe Pennyarcade
5. 2012 in 2002
6. Antiques Road Show: Video Game Edition
7. Whether y’all got that Madden
8. OnLive, and whether it’s even worth saving
9. Ridablanimals
10. What’s wrong with D. Souls series

I've been listening to this since this thread went active, absolutely love it, although the audio quality is pretty terrible, the levels are all over the place and the audio cuts in and out. Hope they find a way to address that in the future. Other than that, random stuff like Dr. Pepper Hot Dog Cafe are amazing. Don't think I laughed so hard at something since My Brother my Brother And Me.

Whoa, when did people apart from Rufus and I show up? I need to up my NeoGAF time.

Yeah, they REALLY need to adjust their Skype settings or adjust whatever the problem is. I have a high tolerance for low quality, but they speak fast and talk over each other (which is fine), and it's easy to get lost when audio cuts out 5 or 6 words every 20 seconds.

Still, the quality of the podcasting is high. Tuna Man made me giggle.

I tried it but there's too much Tim Rogers for me. I thought I could handle a little bit of Tim Rogers but there's just too much.
