I guess if i were to categorize it in a genre it would be a sim. You dig and collect various blocks (dirt iron gold ect) than you can build a house and forge/workbench to build better items for more digging. You also find crates and chests when you dig which can have treasure(which I am unsure the point of right now) or recipes for other craftable items. There are some enemys you will encounter in your digging that you can kill with swords and whatnot, but they aren't a major feature. Not a turn based rpg but it will require time to acquire all the items / achievements. That's the best description I can give it.

What didn't you like about Gangstar Rio? Can you give us a mini-review? And if Gameloft stopped there would be no MC3, my favorite game on the iPad so ease up, but I would like to hear your City of Saints impressions because it's fairly expensive and I'm holding off for now.

Easily my favorite game on the Appstore and one of my top games of this year. I love everything about it. Great music, great graphics, interesting story.

Good, if not overly pretentious. I wanted to like it more than I actually liked it, but it's a pretty cool experience.

Well. Crafted is free now, so everyone who's been curious about it can try it out.

Of course, curiosity got the best of me yesterday and I spent a buck on it then.

Evertales is really slick. The game looks gorgeous and the presentation has been given loads of love, I'm just not 100% down with the physics yet, it doesn't feel like My weapon is connecting solidly with enemies and the jumping is a little floaty but it looks really promising apart from that. Funny intro too, the game has a good sense of humor.

Anyone playing Junk Jack unable to find iron ore? I can't figure it out, and I need it to make chests. I might have to check that wiki after all.

EDIT: never mind, I found a big vein of iron. /air guitar

Weird, I was trying to pick up Crafted for free this afternoon, and I was getting an error message from the App Store. Now it isn't even showing up when I search for it. Not sure what the deal is.

So 4S isn't much more powerful than iPad2? I can rest kinda easy knowing my ithing won't be obsolette too soon for the more graphically heavy games?

I would certainly hope so. It had been up far too long as-is. The guy straight up stole assets from Minecraft.

Well surely games will want to still support the still very new 4S by then, benefitting iPad2 too if it's not much worse..?

Unless they will also put out iPhone5 around the same time as iPad3?

Yeah, ipad 2 will be fine, until probably iphone 5 or so (Oct 2012?).

I'm at Dark Chapter 5 now in Super Crossfire. One of the most awesome bullet hell experiences on the device thus far for me. Game is easily up there with the Cave shooters in every respect.

Playing Junk Jack.. and fucking shit could they have made night longer and any freaking darker? I mean holy shit.. and where the hell do I find stone that I can mine with this wooden piece of crap.

It'll be a while before the 4S/iPad 2 don't run most games I think. Not until the iPhone 5 becomes the bottom level free phone like the 3GS is now, probably another 3-4 years; after the 5S and 6 are released.

Still undecided. There's a lot of love put into the game, but I'm still not 100% on the physics and attack. I've only played about 30 minutes so far though, everything might tighten up when I upgrade my Archer to a Ninja for example.

There's optional IAP, but within 30 minutes I had upgraded my sword, my bow and my magic dude and grinding for more coins looks really easy so at this stage it doesn't appear to be needed.

And goddam Epoch just landed in my store too:

I might wait for someone else to take the plunge on this, although based on the fun I had playing ShadowGun primarily as a cover-shooter I suspect I'll really like this.
