Fuck you Sega.
I was wondering about this, if you had to get AAA on every stage to get an overall AAA ranking. So if i get just one AA ranking, then it is just to restart (when i am trying to get an overall AAA ranking) :\

Quite, but the Panzer Dragoon Dragon is the rarest, i think.

You will miss "Frequent Flyer" that way but yeah, it's what i do aswell if i get that AA early in the game.

I've seen the UFOs and Dragons a bunch of times, however the F-14 from AfterBurner I've only seen once.

Is there any way to force which type of event I get in heart attack mode (i.e. during Legend) or is it random?

Edit: Nevermind!

Shit! Requirements for the Legend achievement should be more like "Successfully finish 5 multiplayer matches in a row". Every time I get a winning streak, the host ragequits. And hosting the game myself doesn't seem to help, because it's game over if the others drop out.

Having twice won 5 consecutive races I've been able to finish, maybe I've earned myself a moral right to whore the achievement with my friends' help. :p

Bay / Forest / Casino / Legend is the best. Trust me, I'm the 9th in the World at that goal!

And if you're really lucky, you'll get Legend's event where its pass cars, run through blue, drift, which is a joke.

The High Score charts in the game, are they divided in difficulties?
So if I have Normal settings I won't see the people using Very Easy settings?
Or is it mixed?

How many players on PS3 are registerered on the Goal A highscore?
How many players on X360 are registerered on the Goal A highscore?

Can't remember how much it was last time I checked on my PS3, but I think it was really low, something like 5-6000.

Only 7920 on PS3 when I just checked.
Does not look good for further arcade titles from Sega on PSN... not good at all...

You have to consider it isn't available in America for whatever reason. That is a huge chunk of missing sales right there.

It's not split on difficulties, only 4 ways between AT & MT, Normal & Tuned for each transmission...

I don't have the game on right now, but you got your answer already for the Leaderboards number though...

Ye, that is true. I havnt gotten this trophy/achiement yet, so i usually finish the race even if i get a rating of less than AAA (unless i fail to get an AAA rating at the first round or so) so i get one step closer to get the "Frequent Flyer" trophy/achievment :)

Indeed. Have Sega said why they didnt release Outrun Online Arcade in the US for the PSN?

MS bought US exclusivity. I thought it was obvious.

Sad that Sony's finances are so low so they can't fight for those things.

Only gamers really loose this way, but that's how the ball rolls.

Ok, thanks for the info :) For me it wasnt obvious, it could have been some decition that Sega made that didnt involve Microsoft for all that i knew. Some PSN games also gets released earlier in some territories as well (what is the reason for this by the way?), so i thought that maybe this could be the case with OutRun Online Arcade as well :)

Are you serious?

Why on earth would Microsoft buy US exclusivity for fucking Outrun of all games, and then only in America? It's more likely that SCEA doesn't want ports on PSN. Check out how many arcade ports are coming to XBLA vs PSN then try and tell me it's MS buying exclusivity for megahitz like Mark of the Wolves.

Why Outrun 2? Uh, I dunno, maybe it's because it's pretty big, hot and popular game? Just a guess... Outrun is a game that is finished and up and running on ps3 just not for all regions. Why wouldn't scea want Outrun on us psn if they put up something as obscure as GTI Club - an arcade port in similar vein only 1000 times less popular? Why would you pull SNK arcade titles into this, huh? MS has a great deal with SNK on neo geo arcade for a long time and apart of early deal for PS1 games in Japan and HongKong, Sony doesn't have such deal for psn or they would be popping FF Special and MS3 when it came out on xbla. That's their problem, but that doesn't have anything to do with a case of Outrun 2 where the game is already up and running on ps3 just not for all regions. I don't get why you jumped with Garou all of a sudden. I give you another: Virtual On.

Timed exclusivity, region exclusivity - it's a normal thing. Were you born yesterday guys?

Haha what.

Outrun is a game that is finished and up and running on ps3 just not for all regions. Why wouldn't scea want Outrun on us psn if they put up something as obscure as GTI Club - an arcade port in similar vein only 1000 times less popular?
GTI Club is a modern remake that looks like a current gen game. That's why.

Why would you pull SNK arcade titles into this, huh?
I could pull any arcade title, really. How many old arcade ports have there been on US PSN? And I mean strictly ports, not remakes like HDR or GTI Club. Those Midway games and...? Yeah, just those Midway games. And Puzzle Fighter.

There's a reason why these aren't coming to PSN. I used to think it was due to "moneyhats" too but now I am pretty sure SCEA just does not want these games on their service. This is nothing new for them - they've denied approval for ports on every console they've ever released. PSN is not a service for old games, much like the PS1, PS2 and PSP weren't. Sony has never liked old fashioned games on their new consoles unless they are remakes or collections. They want fresh original content that displays their system's strengths.

Or it could be that Microsoft is buying up exclusivity for every single arcade port on XBLA. Money well spent!

I don't get why you jumped with Garou all of a sudden. I give you another: Virtual On.
I jumped on it because it's fucking ridiculous to think anyone would pay for Garou's exclusivity. Same with VOOT. Same with any of these games. They are the definition of niche. MS like to throw away money but they seem to have eased off it lately

Timed exclusivity, region exclusivity - it's a normal thing. Were you born yesterday guys?
Were you? Because Sony's been rejecting worthwhile titles because they don't fit the image they like their console to project for the last 15 years. And Microsoft isn't innocent in this regard. As I said in the Garou thread (and man I probably shoulda linked to that post rather than writing a whole new one - I'm sorry for crapping up a lovely Outrun thread!) I fucking hate them for rejecting XBLA ports of Cave's shooters, but they did allow retail releases of those games, while Sony rejected them outright.

It is 100% retarded to think that MS would spend one dime on US exclusivity for Outrun Arcade. I mean, really.

Blame SCEA.

Wow I can't believe someone is actually trying to convince people MS paid for exclusive rights for this game in NA. Seriously one of the most stupid idea's i've ever seen posted on this forum. One can really only shake their head and laugh at such a level of fanboy/conspiracy-ism.

Hey guys. Two questions.

First, what path are you taking to get the millionaire score? It pissed me off pretty bad when I took L - L- L - R and got a final score of 999437. I'm thinking I just need to take this path a few more times...

Which brings me to my next question. When I pass a rival, sometimes I get 12500, sometimes 25000, and sometimes 50000. I realize that when I hit them I get the 12500, but it seems to randomly give me either 25000 or 50000 if I pass them cleanly. What gives?

It doesn't matter which path you take really - just follow the path where you see a rival go and follow him...

And to get the full 50,000 points for passing a rival, you have to be slip-streaming him for at least a few seconds till you get close enough that you have to pass him - just passing a rival without slip-streaming will only get you the 25000...

Same with every other vehicle as well - you get more points for slip-streaming them also instead of a regular pass...

Damn. Reading about the way everyone's playing this game really reminds of Pac-Man CE. I need to get this ... I have the points ... I just have so many other games I'm playing .... aghh.

It doesn't have to be a few seconds, just seeing the Slipstream text flash will do, and you don't have to be slipstreaming a car when passing it to get the bonus.

Buses and trucks earn you 15,000 points after slipstreaming, so don't miss any of those either. Overall, try to slipstream every vehicle you pass. If you want, you can change the difficulty to very easy and take your time.

Too hard for me :(
I mean, i can't get those damn ghosts.
If you are playing on the default easy setting you have enough time to ease off the speed and aim for them, same goes for the stars in the final section.

first section: piss easy
San Francisco: be careful right after the bridge, feel free to hit the cones though
Forest: slow down a little to catch the ghosts (they zigzag on the track), don't miss the drift at the end
Ice Stage: only hard part, either you get it or you don't, you can't have more than 2 trucks in front of you when crossing the finish line... feel free to brush one or two, but don't hit any of them, instant fail... also, slow down in the tunnel halfway
Stars: piss easy, just slow down, you have all the time in the world

It's frustrating having to do the first 3 stages over and over again to get another shot at the Ice Stage, but that's the only difficult section really.

Good luck.

I find the blue cones easier... dunno what's wrong with me, i'll try again.

Actually, for my AAA, i was trying something like Left-Left-Left-Right, or Left-Left-Right-Right, can't really remember, but as you can see i always avoid the ghosts when i can.

Half way into the star mission you need to switch lanes to the right side otherwise you lack enough stars to AAA, they fall from the sky in pairs at first but then as single (big) stars with more on the right lane of the highway.

You laugh and then say something like this:

Now this is a reason to laugh. You must not own the said game. GTI club looks nothing like a current gen game even remade. More, it looks worse then Outrun that is already a last gen game. We have here a game that is uglier, has less content and is an unrecognizable brand versus Sega's flagship title in Outrun series. Do you really think scea would not want Sega's title that's not only popular but already done on the console, but rather they thought that giving thumbs up for remake an unknown title from 96 will prove more bussines fashionable? Ok then.

Let's put this at point that I believe that they wanted it and you stay with your statement that they don't.

It's great that you put words in my mouth. Thanks. Where did I say MS moneyhated the snk or any other titles that appered on xbla versus psn(apart of Outrun thing)? I was pointing it out for you that example of Garou has nothing to do with this situation. It's not surprising for me that it's not coming ot on psn, never was, as MS already has history with SNK neo geo xbla ports. I gave you an example of Virtual On, an another title that similarity doesn't have nothing to do with Outrun that is already ported and running on the console. Jesus, I'm repeating myself and feel it's pointless.
Do I have to capslock "I don't think MS moneyhats xbla arcade games." for people to understand? How the fuck does it end up that I'm impling this:

Rummy Bunnz said:

It's like I say:"Guys, MS bought US region exclusivity for Outrun."
And people go: "Hey guys, he says MS buying exclusivity for all arcade titles and that's why those aren't on psn. Let's stone the fucker and throw the body to a volcano!"

The fuck? And I repeat: The fuck? :\

I must get back to one quote.

So do you call psn lumines, cuboid and astro tripper a fresh and original content that displays PS3's strenghts? An psp port and two old pc games.
Also I wouldn't say that Sony never liked old fashioned games, as there's shitload of classic and arcade games for both ps2 and ps1. Probably it would add up to a biggest collection on consoles. Yes, most on collections but sometimes those "collections" had only 2 titles. But that subject is bit on the side as there could be various interpretations of "old fashioned games".
