SalsaShark said:No. We arent a poor country at all either, but no they are not.
Fixed. And just turn your TV to the World Cup and see who`s kicking some major ass.
arstal said:Those prices are insane- it's like they don't want to sell it there or something.
Ikkarus said:Seeing those prices makes me thankful I live in the UK. (Sorry SalsaShark).
The prices in the UK start at £39.99 then depending on the success could drop to £17.99 within 3-4 weeks.

Salacious Crumb said:"T.T 60 bucks is far too much for new releases, I can't handle it, and if the prices don't go down soon the games industry is gonna crash again." This is you AmeriGAF
Mad Max said:The reason games are so expensive in 3rd world countries is because there is no large market for luxury goods, so generally stuff like games aren't officially published there. Which means they are often imported by 3rd parties who basicly decide their own price.
Neckbeard69 said:If it was not for the excellent online shops from the UK I would have had to stop videogaming alltogether

Allan Holdsworth said:You can 99% of the time avoid customs (which are a crazy 50% of the total price including shipping).
SalsaShark said:Same here. 60 percent if im not mistaken. We do have a lower chance of avoiding customs i think :/ ive had good luck, but i know some people that havent.
Allan Holdsworth said:Well I mean for smallish stuff like videogames. Importing consoles could be a pain though, I don't have the courage to do it so it's better to ask someone going to US (I knew a flight attendant that did importing business on the side, before I ordered online)
vazel said:You poor bastards. I guess globalization doesn't help games much. What about DVDs/Blu-rays? Do you people pay more for those too? In America Blu-rays are $25 average.
I live in Australia, so I know what it's like but it's unfair to put it that way. Just because some other country has it worse doesn't mean they shouldn't complain.highluxury said:At times, I really dont understand how american gamers will cry over the prices in the states, when Europeans pay way above with the ridiculous taxes we got.
In Germany, it's about $75-$87 at retail. Yeah, at Gamestop, some games are 69.90 at release.Rez said:we pay roughly 90US for console games

hxa155 said:In Saudi Arabia (and the rest of the Middle East) the prices fluctuate and depend on how popular the title is. For example, GTA IV retailed for 500 SR (133 USD) but for the most part they are similar to prices of European countries.
Witchfinder General said:Damn, I'm so glad that my parents emigrated from Uruguay and I was born here in Australia. Yeah our prices might not be great but at least they're not that bad.
Are you kidding me? You haven't heard of Uruguay WHAT? Where do you live?MidnightScott said:BTW I've never even heard of Uruaguay

That sucks, dude.

Importing from the UK reduces the price to about $60 though for the newest titles, so that's my recommendation.
