I own but have never played EE for 1 and 2 on PC. I wanted to play W3 on console, and was waiting for the Enhanced Edition to pick that up. I'm pretty sure that my PC versions had all the DLC though? Definitely hoping for a complete package to pick up. I've heard a lot of good things about 3.
I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and the combat seems fine. Very challenging and punishes laziness. Requires good use of signs, oils/potions, and bombs. You have to be patient and dodge/parry.
I guess people wanted assassins Creed or batman combat?
Guess im waiting another month or so to jump in then
They wanted Souls/Borne combat.
I played on Death March too and was thoroughly satisfied with the combat as well.

Biggest change I would want is an overhaul of the skill tree. As it is I don't feel any reason to put points into alchemy or telekinetic or aoe signs.
It seems like some of the skill options should be buffed or balanced better, or replaced.
I agree. It's not my favorite combat system, but I've never quite understood the extent of all the complaints. I think the thing is that the combat is more about you reacting to what the enemies do rather than taking the initiative. It requires patience.

Seems kinda early for an Enhanced Edition, especially after they recently delayed patch 1.12 and Blood+Wine.
My main problem with it is that some high level enemies are just incredibly boring to fight. Not challenging, just dull.

Otherwise it's alright for an RPG of this size. Hell, fighting a level 28 griffin at level 18 was fucking wild.
The enhanced edition could be patch 1.12. They are about 3 months earlier than Witcher 1 and 2 before their enhanced edition.

Yeah yeah I'm playing it wrong.Boring because you don't utilize your toolset. Quen+swords is the least efficient approach to combat. I couldn't imagine playing the game like that for 100+ hours.

Well with Witcher 1 and 2, much smaller games with less platforms to cover, the Enhanced Edition came 11 months after release.
On Feb 5th it's barely been 9 months
This "Enhanced Edition", if it is even real, is at best all the free DLC, previous patches, and the expansion content on disc. Anyone expecting significant changes on top of that... keep your expectations in check

It's pretty much how I've played the series up to this point and I've not had this problem. If the game gives me no reason to use its varied toolset then it's the game's fault. I'll use bombs and crossbows against monsters when I feel like it's appropriate but signs like Yrden, Axii and Aard I'll only use when they're required in the story. I have also not upgraded Igni just because why would I waste stamina casting that when I could use it for Quen instead?
This is also one of the reasons I liked Witcher 2's combat better. I feel like it actually forced me to use my toolset. Oils, potions, signs and traps were all pretty much necessary (even on Normal) while here I could technically even beat up anything I want with the wrong sword.

I started playing Witcher 3 last night and I'm not very far into it. Should I hold off and wait for this or am I missing out by playing the vanilla version with updates.
Just one of the reasons why I don't buy games Day One anymore, because they'll most likely come out with another version in which they'll have all of the DLC, & the bugs & fixes included.
How about that?

That's funny, I'm the exact opposite. I have NO points in swordsmanship at all. All alchemy and signs baybee.Biggest change I would want is an overhaul of the skill tree. As it is I don't feel any reason to put points into alchemy or telekinetic or aoe signs.

60fps?
As it stands, I kind of had to guess which alternate sign would be best, and I haven't had a chance to try investing in the others yet. It feels like a gamble, which isn't great.
This year and the next are devoted to The Witcher. Apart from the second expansion we have some additional ideas. They should help us animate sales in 2016.

You aren't supposed to fight high level enemies like these. The red skull is shown to know that's an area you should visit later when you are more leveled up.
This isn't Oblivion where you can go anywhere and do whatever you want.
So if there is no enhanced edition, then what did CDPR mean here:

Bummer. The dream is dead.
