The wrist watch thread.

It’s almost impossible to find a watch that’s simple and elegant. Every watch I see is about the size of a fuckin plate and looks like a rent boy’s apartment. All I want is something a chap about town can wear. Something that tells the ladies I’m classy and know my way around the labia
Timex was one of my first watch to get me in to watches. Great value and I think a very understated style:

I have gotten more compliments with this $75 Casio watch than any other of the 30 watches I have. This is a amazing value and looks great on a leather strap - the bracelet it comes with is just okay:

My vote is for blue. Have you also looked at the quartz version? This is a watch I have considered many times, so I have watched endless reviews and the quartz gets super high marks as well. The only thing not on the quartz is that amazing dial with the waffle finish.
Good choice for whatever you end up with.
I am currently contemplating the Citizen Tsuyosa for an everyday watch:

I used to wear watches all the time. I have several of the first Swatches back when they released as well as Fossil (back when the faces were made to look like fossils).

This is my go to watch. Why? No battery. I pick it up regardless of how long it’s been since I’ve worn it, set the time, wind it, and I’m good.

Does this community have an FAQ? I'm sure the most commonly asked question is "why in 2024 wear a wrist watch when phones are doing it for most people?" and I honestly don't know the answer.

Srs ???, aficionados hlp wanted

Got this one. MK-8182. Only wear it at weddings, interviews and important outings. Other than that I never wear watches. Solid watch. Got it 10 years I think. $300 CDN.

Glad to see no one is posting those hideous monstrosities that the "celebs" and wealthy Americans wear, more jewels than fucking sense and costing hundreds of thousands if not millions... Oh fuck off

For some reason I can't insert an image, this my daily driver, have been itching to pick up another Oris watch

Don't ever, never, ever buy a "JORD" brand wooden watch. They look cool and all that, but buyer beware. They break way too easy, even if you oil them regularly. They don't like cold weather either. Basically stay away from wooden watches.

I own a Hamilton field watch. Nothing to do with hamilton. Those dune watches just look like toys.
Cool beans.

I own the Interstellar one. The Cooper btw.

Tasteless rich cunts.

It says that you are for sale. Your opinion is for sale. You are basically a bitch and somebodies bitch.
Yes, Grand Seikos have really nice dial work and they are still reasonably priced vs. Swiss brands but the thickness kills it for me.
The sad truth is that most of them are completely soulless time pieces. You put them on the wrist and there's no fizz.
I've been itching to get a new watch but I have no money for another rolex (really want a day date).

Picked up the all black casino dw5600 instead. I really like it!

I guess that goes hand in hand with the entire sailing theme. Love it or hate it.

A compass bezel would have made more sense?

I honestly never realized that it was a sailing theme across this brand, probably my bad but it doesnt seem to make it look better TBH.

It's an incredible choice, way better than all the Omega Swatches plastic crap. Go with the dial you like, green is in vogue right now, blue is a classic.

Who has the guts to rob him blind when he's dead?

Somebody is scheming in the grassy knoll and he's probably dug a tunnel to the vault already. Years in the making this.

My sports/hiking/dirty work watch is an 8 year old G-shock that has served me well. It is a bit bulky, but I still like it.

I have a 1966 rolex air-king-date that I inherited from my grandfather. It is pretty cool, but I don't wear it much. It is a bit too "flashy" for me

I am looking to get a Tudor Ranger for my next daily/office wear watch. I have a 20 year old Pulsar watch that is more or less at the end of it's lifespan and needs to be replaced.

I actually forgot to post back here when I eventually got it, had it for just over a month now very happy with it. I went for the blue face in the end.

It’s a beautiful watch with great power reserve. Watches that cost 100x more have shittier power reserve. Great choice!

Counting down the days...

I have a pretty wide range of watches (Omega, Tissot, Seiko, Orient, etc.) but I loves me some Casios (The one on the left I wear as my nightly beater):
In fact, if I could only have one watch from my collection, it would likely be the Edifice - the fifth one in on the bottom row.
