The entries look solid it's just the order is... eh, I guess.
Resident Evil 4 at 46? lol come on. Top 5 at least.

How does the oregon trail hold up? still nice gameplay for todays standards?
Microsoft made the top 10 with Minecraft. Sonic and Uncharted are great and all but not making an all-time top 10 isn't exactly that shocking. It does seem a bit Nintendo heavy though, Zelda 1 is sort of a surprise. That's not an awful list, but the top ten doesn't reflect the contributions to the industry from Sony, SEGA, and MS.
It seems like a PC/Nintendo top ten pretty much.
EDIT: Just read through the entire list and yeah... Sony, SEGA, and MS contributions are sorely lacking. Also, I love Rise of the Tomb Raider, but I don't think it has any business being in a top 50 list.
Oh, absolutely. Definitely still plays like one of the best games ever made. How does the oregon trail hold up? still nice gameplay for todays standards?
The list isn't 'most impactful games' though. The last of us has nothing on angry birds in terms of impact.
No Metroid. That is one americany nintendo-ass list but regardless i treat such lists as 'must play' and th overall list is good
Diablo II is arguably the best role-playing game of all time, the best dungeon-crawler of all time and the best PC game of all time. And thats before you get to everything it influenced. Released in 2000, Diablo II evolved the clickfest, hack-n-slash gameplay of its predecessor in numerous ways (all of which go into its best-of-the-best-of-the-best case file). Most important for future gamesespecially todays widely popular free-to-play mobile gameswas how Diablo II seemed to perfect the feedback loop of effort and reward to keep the dopamine jolts flowing through its endless, randomly generated levels.
I would argue that it is, but it's obviously almost impossible to compare.Zork is better than Bioshock, apparently.
Incredibly Western-centric list in general.
There is no way Super Metroid should be above Minecraft. It's not a bad top 10 list if you exclude Minecraft.
Place Super Metroid in it's place and it's good.
They have Ocarina of Time but not Wind Waker, so I'll go with the latter.
Are the two categories mutually exclusive?
"50 video games you've probably heard of"
Doom instead of Doom II? The fuck is this?
Top 10 is OK. Oregon Trail should not even be on the list. Yes, everyone played it in school. Yes, it's kind of fun. No, it's not a one of the best games ever made.
Angry Birds is there, but no mention of The Last of Us.
Okay, sure. Hey, it's your list.
Yeah, Tetris wasn't ported to every fucking toaster. Puyo Puyo Tetris and Tetris Ultimate weren't released in the last 2 years either I guess.Greatest game of all time hasn't be relevant in almost 30 years.
Yes it is. Having MK but no Street Fighter is rather offensive. Having Angry Birds on the list is also offensive.Street Fighter 2 is mandatory in every top 10
Greatest game of all time hasn't be relevant in almost 30 years.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
2. Super Mario 64
1. Tetris
I have played Tetris every day since it launched for Game Boy. So... I'll allow it.
