I went Saturday and it's fucking awesome. Unfortunately I didn't get enough sleep on Sunday so now I'm super groggy today at work

Only problems were the sound engineering (music was too loud, bass was too muffled) and a part in the middle where he dragged on a bit. But both the beginning and end were really strong, loved his multiple encores (of "Bergen" and "Walking on a Dream").

So I listened purely to your mixing. What did you use? Software? Or do you beatmatch by hand? Because it sounds like the beatmatching is off sometimes. Not much though, just by a margin, but I can hear the kicks going not really 'sync' at some times throughout the mix. Just a little bit though (for example from 17:45 onwards)! And the timing is a bit strange in some transitions. Don't take this as a personal attack, I'm not trying to be a dick here. Just want to help you out mate. Keep it up

I use Traktor and a small Numark DJ controller. It should be in sync at the very least, since the program does all that for me. As for the transitions, yea they can be pretty rough sometimes. Some of the songs dont flow well with each other just in terms of sound, but it's the closest I could get it with the songs that I wanted. One of the transitions was a 5-6 key jump.

When you say from 17:45 onwards, you mean throughout the rest of the mix??

Also, I'll fully admit there were plenty of different genres in this one, but was there not one trance song that you liked? Not even the Andrew Rayel songs or Everafter?

There aren't really any venues that specifically cater to trance anymore (RIP Love), your best bet is to look on the Tranceaddict NY subforum and see what artists catch your eye and if they are playing while you're in town.

2 big ones coming up will be Jody Wisternoff on Dec 7 (more along the lines of deep/melodic/funky house) and Armin on NYE (which will undoubtedly be verrrrry pricey).

I'll give you a hint to my username... on the videogame site, I use an avatar and username of a DJ, but on the music site I use a videogame related avatar and a username

dehydratedbabies: that's not nearly as expensive as I was expecting (thought it'd be double that, like when Tiesto played on NYE a few years ago). But I will be going with my friend to see Pretty Lights the day before and will probably keep it local on the island for NYE. ASOT600 is something I'm considering though.
