Has in-fighting ever been a thing for the Tories? I've seen it happen a lot with left-wing parties (Democrats in the US, Labor in Australia) but not sure I've seen it happen to a right-wing party anywhere.

The entire reason we're Brexiting in the first place, more or less, is because of Tory infighting.

From YouGov, yeah. Second seat after Basildon they've not hit.

Yet there have been other seats where Labour have performed better than YouGov predicted. It's crazy how close this is. So far YouGov is looking highly accurate, though BBC are suggesting Conservatives might be doing better than the exit poll suggests (and the exit poll is better for the Conservatives than the YouGov poll). So I still don't know what to make of this yet. Will take some close call seats changing hands I think to make safer predictions.

North East England going more Tory than expected. Doesn't seem to be replicated across the country though.

Holy crap, if polls are correct this is a perfectly hung parliament.

God I hope so. If it was hung, that's definitely not in the tories favour. I'd imagine coalition talks would be with "everyone else", and I don't see even if they got the first shot, who would actually say yes to them.

Another question from an ignorant Australian: Is there any result from this that could justify/cause another election sometime this year a la France?

Am I dreaming or is there a chance of JC walking through no 10

Emily Thornberry (who looked blazed off her tits) was on the BBC earlier saying if the exit poll was right there would be no deals they would just put their manifesto to the queen and see who votes for it.

...So no there's no chance.

You're a big guy.
Democratic socialism isn't as toxic as we've been told, apparently

The ideas in the manifesto were easy to grasp and addressed clear problems. They weren't about fiddling in the middle and compromising. The whole campaign was run with decency and honesty. I don't think it vindicates any particular ideology necessarily (although Labour must stick with it) rather a way of doing things. People are sick of lies.

In the EU referendum people protest voted against the establishment. Good amounts of them still did, but this time so did many of the remainers.

So I see some Brits on my Facebook saying this backfired out of May's cunt (not sure if that's a British thing or just a him thing), so I'm taking it that this isn't working out like the Tories wanted?

Can someone explain to a non-brit what it currently looks like and what this means?

Tories might have given away their majority

depending on how it goes Labour could form a minority government backed by other liberal parties (although this is still a way off)
