Despite listing it I can imagine Mario being problematic depending on ethnicity, and it's so highly visible that it's probably damned if you do, damned if you don't. Either you're not remotely Italian and have the name Mario, or you are and that just makes it worse dealing with other kids growing up. That IS an advantage for names like John, though that's kind of an extreme example because that's so common that we have that as a placeholder name.Mario is a pretty standard name.
