Don't worry, one piece on non-optimal gear won't hurt. Pressing, I think Square/X, shows you your attribute graph with each piece of clothing. In most cases doesn't even budge

If you disconnect the internet you can play offline without server disconnect. I've played without problem like that (on steam).
