Winter Anime 2017 |OT| John Wick cleaning up KyoAni's mess

I just signed up for the Crunchyroll free trial to take advantage of the free fandango ticket.

I'm not really a big anime fan. The only anime I gave a real shot to was Cowboy Bebop a couple years ago, I was enjoying it up until they added the annoying kid to the cast. I also remember it getting kinda confusing with flashbacks and stuff and I just fell off it.

Anyone have some recommendations for stuff to watch while I have the trial? I also don't really like reading subtitles.

I'd go with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, The Rose of Versailles, Kaiji or The Flowers of Evil. Pretty wide variety.

Nearly everything on Crunchyroll is subtitles.

Taboo Charming Mother. A very good drama show about a son who have a new step-mother which his dad remarried and how this new mother try her best to be a good mother to him in this new family. Quite a bit of drama and touching character development between them. Would recommend.

Were your expectations for a monster girl anime already higher than the bare minimum?

Well some people seem to rather like the source material.

Given the track record of other monster girl anime recently I was looking positively at it.

Took a couple weeks off, but I really like the characters, so I'm back to finish the series up. Tough matchup with this crazy champion though.

Pretty fun episodes. Liked the Joseph/Jotaro conversations with Suzie. Breaking teeth was cool. Polnareff filling in and shouting "all my god" got me.

Seems like this is where season one wrapped up. I was low on the first half of this but have warmed up to it. Think pacing wise it just throws me off where part 1 and 2 combined is the same length of half of part 3. I enjoy the characters and the fights are always interesting (and usually gross).

This isn't a very good joke.

I won't be joking but it actually have a decent story and character development for what it's. Also, it have a rank of 7.22 on MAL (if it mean anything).

MAL scores don't mean anything other than popularity.

And out of all the shows you could recommend, why would a hentai like this be your first choice?

Scum's Wish - 11

THIS FUCKING SHOW. Akane is the most fascinating anime character of recent seasons, holy cow. This episode was PERFECT. Sensei is fascinating too in a sense, because this man has no fucks to give about just how broken she is and doubles down on his decision by asking her to
get married to him
. Mugi too has finally hit that wall, and saw the error of his ways. There is still one episode left... I wonder whether he and Hanabi will reconnect, or if things will stay as is, and the moral of the story is just that people can change and move on from these kind of situations.

Anime Japan's this weekend right?

What kind of announcements are you guys hoping for?

Would be nice to get confirmation of if there will be another Digimon series after Appmon ends in September, although I would probably expect that to come later.

Update on Nanoha would be cool, or more info on Geass S3.

Most of the other stuff I can think of is basically just pipe dream scenarios.

Is that before or after the anal scenes?

I am guessing later part.

Well..sorry if I throw this at you Lifeline. With the vague of genre and you sound like you want a English dubbing, I guess I throw few choice here for you to look at (NOTE: This is older show as I am older gaf so...if you want newer show, I do hope the animegaf here will post some).

Jin Roh (Fantasy/Thriller/Drama)
Ghost Stories (Horror) (Don't watch it for the story but for the dubbing)
GTO (Comedy-drama, School, Slice of life)
Gundam Wing (Mecha/Action)

The irony that the terrible characters in Sasuke and Sakura actually produce the best child while Naruto and Hinata produce the worst.

Ironic that Kishi who couldn't write a female character to save his fucking life is outdone the second he hands the ip over.

The Boruto movie is legit good and way better than the manga adaption of it. I'd just watch the movie.

Ehh it was ok.

I just wish they would let Naruto and that ip lay low for a bit. All and all with the exception of Itachi's odd way of supporting Sasuke, Kishi not understanding women, and Naruto suffering from "shonen protagonist who came from nothing somehow ignores the one person who reaches out to him" I'd say the series anime and manga did alright in the end.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (Subtitled) Episode 96 – Relativity Field! Judai Versus the Genius Doctor

Wow Dr. Zweinstein was a good duel, I almost thought Juudai would lose when his special summons were consistently being blocked.

It must certainly be a lot better than the description suggests, then. Too bad about the staff.

It is. Centaur's Worries isn't titillating or ecchi (its similar to Galko-Chan I guess, a bit raunchy and crude. They talk about feminine care products for centaurs) but the characters are good and the world is pretty cool, focusing more on how many ADA bills you would need if centaurs, reptilians, angels and mermaids were all real and common.

Also there are just straight up no regular humans

Minagawa's Wish 11
It seems we have seen the standout character arc of the season come to a close. Seeing Minagawa's disgust, intrigue, and uncertainty mix during her dealings with Milquetoast the last couple of episodes has been great. Now I guess time to go back to trash monster Hanabi to close it out?

Centaur's Worries is good but has a tendency to...go off on something for a number of chapters that isn't very interesting and then snap back to interesting stuff so you're like "Oh fuck, it's not boring anymore"

The trolling from this dog is hilarious

Based on what's happened to past dogs I have a bad feeling about this though...

Pocket Monsters XY/XY&Z Whole Series:
Worst ever season of the Pokemon anime. But I'm finally free of this at last, and I can start on Sun & Moon.

Quite frankly, the writing quality for XY was atrocious, and the worst ever seen by the show. The main cast was almost entirely unlikable outside of Satoshi. Best Wishes was like a masterpiece compared to this. No clue what happened at OLM during those three years, but they wasted every single visual step forward with a massive drop in story quality.

Burst Finishes look so amazing here versus in first Beyblade. Valt really leveled up not even having to use his new move.

Looking forward to potentially Valt v Wakiya.

Hyouka - 1

A really well animated and directed opening episode, especially loved how the MC kept felling trapped by the girl and imagining her hair entrapping him. I enjoyed just how much, for lack of a better description, how much life there was in the surrounding area. Charming episode, will continue to watch.

And read up on all the novels and related media once it's finished.

Green Legend Ran

A pretty ok 3 part OVA. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where nature gods punished mankind for killing the planet. They basically dropped down these massive statues that drain absolutely everything from the earth turning it into one huge desert.

A few thoughts

+it had a really cool world. Both the desert cities and the Green arenas looked pretty amazing
+the setting of earths survivors against gods chosens was well done.
+Really cool Sand ships battles. Impacts were really really cool.
+the way the violence was shown was brutal and kind of awful. Not enough to make it hard to watch, but strong enough to leave an impact.
+Nature can be super scary!
+Character designs were all really cool. Ran, the mc, in particular.
+Great looking animation throughout the whole thing.

-Some characters actions were really dumb. The main girl had Zeta Gundam girl level of dumbness.
-Ran's motivations were kind of weak and left me not feeling any real emotions at all.
-A terribly forced-in secretly I'm your father moment.
-The english dub is pretty bad, it lacked in several ways.
-The way the ending built-up felt a little weak and it lacked impact.
-kind of boring at times.

So overall like I said it was ok, but nothing I would actively recommend to anyone. It's kind of forgettable.
