Also noted that black regiments and battalions fought in the most dangerous areas of the war in Europe (because they weren't technically part of the army yet you see) and many were sent with inadequate supplies and, in some cases, fucking fake guns used for training (literally wooden guns) and expected to use them in actual combat.

Bit of an aside but, important to also know.
Fake guns, are you serious? The more I learn the worse it gets.
another bishless thread. sad!

What happened to Bish?

A note from the Till trial:
The Jury Foreman mocked Emmett Till's mother after the acquittal.

Jury Foreman Shaw said the big factor in the acquittal was that the state failed to prove identification of young Till’s body beyond a reasonable doubt.
The jurors, after studying a picture of the body, decided that it was “very badly beaten” and totally unrecognizable.
Asked how the jurors considered the identification of the body by Mrs. Mamie Bradley, mother of the slain boy, Shaw said curly: “If she had tried a little harder she might have got out a tear.”

Man these racists don't even try to hide their shit anymore, Trump's America baby

"Yeah I committed perjury which led to the murder of an innocent child, so what?"

Erm, this interview occurred in 2007, she committed perjury but Emmett was already dead at that point. It didn't cover what she told her husband when he had returned but if she was willing to lie about Till making "verbal and physical advances" under oath she probably told him the same or something similar though it's not like there needed to be a strong trigger back then for some racist shit bags to lynch a black man or kid in this case. Either way she played her part and her husband and company and 50s Mississippi did the rest.

Everything about this trial was a farce.

[Sheriff] Strider lorded over the courtroom and refused to admit African American journalists to see the proceedings against the accused, Roy Bryant and his half-brother, J. W. Milam. When Judge Curtis Swango overruled him, Strider segregated them from the white journalists and placed them at a card table off to the side of the courtroom. Then, when African American Congressman Charles Diggs arrived from Detroit, Strider refused to let him in. A black journalist tried to explain Diggs' status to Strider, but the sheriff and his deputies remained incredulous. "This nigger said there's a nigger outside who says he's a congressman." To which another deputy replied: "A nigger congressman?"

Did someone say this woman's lie that killed a kid was not meaningful? GTFO

Like... whoa... This case is even one of the few that they bother teaching in schools in the U.S. for crying out loud. Where in the HELL he came from with that is just unreal. There's just no way in hell a balanced person sees this case, looks at the content in the OP of the woman literally admitting she lied and later becoming 'somewhat' remorseful of it; and deciding it would be a good time to talk down to everyone while attempting to absolve her of all responsibility.

I don't even know what the hell you have to be on to even THINK about doing that.

The refusal to just take the L apologize for being wrong and moving on is telling though. Whats deep in someones soul really shows when they insist on trying to be the victim when they are the ones who stormed the thread and lectured us "Liberals" for not seeking the facts; when it turns out it was he who didn't know wtf he was talking about.

The truest form of racism. His story is one that hits me, as a black man. I'm certainly not one to live in the past, but it's crazy to think just how recent this slice of history is. This is basically still fresh, even for all of the progress we've made. Things are no where near what they were during these times, yet it's so fucking recent that people who lived it are still alive now. This is basically within someone's lifespan, which is fucking nothing as far as time is concerned.
