Weird people here are offended with somebody who wears that kind of clothes but does not reveal any offending skin. Like there are literally a good number of games that shows naked girls or much more revealing clothes than that. Even explicit sex sometimes. Hopefully people here show double the outrage over those.
OK.
- The existence of sexually provocative clothing is nobody's issue. The fact that a seemingly underage character wears obviously provocative clothing gratuitously however is the issue. It feeds into a continuous exploitation of women as titillation material first, interesting characters....maybe, possibly, if at all, second.
- The fact that some games feature female characters in sexually evocative clothing or even explicit sex scenes does not rule out the appropriate use of said clothing and / or scenes. Mass Effect's sex scenes have context and relevance. Fire Emblem's "It's ok I'm a 2000yo dragon so I can wear thongs in your face while looking 12yo" isn't. Now if you tell me Pyra's supposed to be a part-time blade / part-time escort, it's still stupid actually so please don't.
- None of that is a purity test, a challenge about whom may be the most offended over skin showing, O LORD SHIELD MY EYES. It's about stupid, vapid stereotypes being used as a marketing / design trope for the continued alienating of a whooole gender in an industry that's still ripe with stereotype and diversity issues.
It's ok that you like boobs. It's ok that you like characters who are weapons with gravity-defying proportions to wear bikinis while in combat. It's far less OK that a whole industry thinks it's you that it must cater to.
