Unfortunately I don't see the rgg games have the same production values as say an typical rpg made by Bethesda or Bioware, just simply due to the sales.

OK what you've mentioned has never really bothered me, but I respect your opinion.

IMO it's a good thing that some things stay the same while adding new ideas etc that way it feels familiar while staying fresh.

I hope you give the full game a chance when it comes out eventually, there's a lot more to the game than the demo shows, I personally can't wait. :)

I know there's plenty more, just like 3 and 4 (although I never finished that one). It's just gotten to the point that this style of gameplay is getting kind of tired for me. It really feels like it's barely evolved since the series debuted. It looks like they finally truly got rid of load times entering battle in this game, but it still takes a while to exit battle. The animations are still pretty bad and the lack of any kind of physics is sad.

I hope that someday they can make a truly seamless and more open world with better animations, actual physics, more ambient voice work and just higher production values in general. I know most people come to these games for the story, but I feel like they could be so much more if the gameplay were great, too. I remember being impressed by the first game when I bought it the Christmas of 2005. It just feels like it hasn't changed much at all since then.

Yeah, I guess my expectations just went up after I saw what the team did with Binary Domain. I mean, after I played the demo of RGG: of The End, I expected Binary Domain was going to be pure shit, but they really impressed me with that game. It really felt like they upped their game and finally entered the generation with a modern-feeling game (subjective term, I know).

But...but the water looks so gooooooood!....(for a BP oil spill simulator game)

Right now I'll just be happy to get this game in the west. But the more they evolve the series the better, so I agree with you, it's just that it would merely be a nice bonus for me, since I know I will enjoy Y5 a lot anyway.

I'm curious to see if they will up their game in production values next gen as you hope for, let's hope for the best.

Irish heres the 2 posters. First one I didnt manage to get totally flat perfectly.
Both are basically the same art as the game box art, which is indeed cool. RGG 4 had some nice posters also RGG Of The End which were posters of each of the characters who appeared in the game.

...oh goddammit Parakeetman

i mean thanks man, but now i want both!

haha no worries brother. Its too bad I dont have the other posters from 4 and RGG Of The End since those were pretty badass. Its not very often one can have a poster with Majima on it lol. The other was of Akiyama and Goda. Was unable to secure one of Kiryu.

The shop down here I buy a bunch of shit from them so they really dont care when I go and take more than a single poster from the free bin they have out on occasion.
Though the good stuff usually vanishes fast, which is why it was unusual to find these 2 together and why I grabbed both that day. lol

I really dont put up posters myself anymore, but since my buddy is a huge fan of the series I figured he would enjoy these. The other RGG posters went to him also. Its too bad I never was around when Im sure a kenzan one was out for grabs.

I dont remember if I have a Binary Domain one in my apartment somewhere. If I did I might have sent it off already along with the RGG ones.

BuyGame2 (which, despite the name, seems to be a legitimate site) sells the posters featuring the Japanese box arts of Yakuza 4 and Dead Souls.

Im guessing those guys must get some in as promo material from their distributors or something. Its the same reason why the shop here gets rid of their excess stock after having laminated at least one for display in the store. Then I guess the employees do some sort of Kirk & Spock death match in the back room for it once its no longer needed.

Have you played Sleeping Dogs? It's basically Yakuza meets Grand Theft Auto.

I have. I thought it was pretty great. I really hope RGG Team takes a look at it.

I don't want RGG to be a game where you steal cars and race around the city, or even a game where you can straight up murder civilians as you please, but I think they could learn a lot from Sleeping Dogs when it comes to making a very open city, but still keeping it extremely detailed and also allowing for cool melee-based combat to occur seamlessly.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Let's hope being able to enter restaurants and convenience stores without loading screens is in for next-gen Yakuza/RGG.

It really bothers me that Kiryu has pretty much looked the same since 3.

The man should at least have a few gray hairs.

Time has nothing on Dragon of Dojima!

But seriously his face changed a lot from y1, 2 to 3,4,5 to resemble more of his voice actor.
He's tiny tiny bit older in 5 lol.
I preferred the low poly look myself.

Maybe the like Sleeping Dogs developers got some inspiration from the Yakuza games. (the finishing moves etc)

It would be great if they could team up and make a unique game. (which is doubtful because of Square-Enix)

I've already talked at work with my friend about how they need a crossover where Wei Shen is dating Haruka

Kiryu would kill him with his stare alone.

Personally I was disappointed in very few moves Shen had.

He broke their fucking leg. What more do you want? Also, Wei's moves have WAY more weight to them than the combat in Yakuza which is something I would hope they fixed here, but it just seems typical Yakuza combat. The noise it makes when Wei connects a move feels good every.single.time. And the running grapple/kick Wei does is more useful than just about every move in Yakuza except for tiger drop.

I'm still in love with this demo for completely different reasons though, and I will try to black it out of my brain until/if it gets a NA release date.

And Kiryu doesn't approve, then Kiryu Kazuma vs Wei Shen fight!

(although I think it will be one of those fight's where Shen will lose no matter what haha)

Please, if Saejima can go toe to toe with Kiryu, mah boy Wei can. Anyways, they'd realize they have a common enemy and team up for a multilingual escapade in Bangkok.

I liked Sleeping Dogs, but because it's an open world game sometimes the camera felt too far while fighting, which made the brutal moves seem less brutal because your so far away haha. (although this might be my mind playing tricks on me, I need to get back to this game soon)

The ending was great, like an epic end to a action movie and showed how badass Wei Shen really is. :)

OK toe to toe, but he won't win no matter what haha. It will be a draw and after Kiryu will understand Wei more because fighting is how real men communicate lol. Then after they will team up because their common enemy has kidnapped Haruka.

(wtf am I saying)

Pfft, what are you guys saying? Tanimura should be a better partner to Wei as they both are cops and speak chinese. :)

seems no achieve S rank, earn millions at casino, play a mini game thousands times kind of stuff.

What about:
リザルトのコンプリートトータルが100%になった

Result completion percentage 100%.
Thats minigame master from Y3, haruka SSS from Y1 (provided its in here) in one.

...You platinumed Yakuza 4? Yakuza 4 has my highest trophy completion of any game, but that's still, like, 40%.

i did indeed! took me like 90 hours but others a lot less. it's doable, and i adored the game.
Dead Souls i have all but the "beat crushing mode" or whatever one, i gotta go back for that one day but not looking forward to it.

3's plat can go fly a kite! speaking of

Man, Kiryu is just fucking brutal on this one. The heat action on those little platforms where he snaps their spine with their ass. Then there's another one where he grabs their face and drags it along the pavement.

Harsh.

Yeah, but Kiryu's supposed to be a recovered guy who doesn't want to spend his whole life fighting.

Then he proceeds to brutalize random punks on the street. It's stuff that Majima would do, not Kiryu. It's kind of like Nathan Drake going on his murder sprees.

Kiryu isn't the one initiating the fights. Those random punks are. He just finishes it.

Those punks just want his money. I highly doubt any of them would decide to suplex him onto a guard rail if they had the chance.

The bully of Dojima is more like it.

Kiryu's inner demons come out when someone picks a fight with him... the inner demons being the player, of course. You don't have to use the heat moves, ya know. ;)

I imagine something akin to GTA: Something extra, but at the same time, its a profession, not a hobby, and I would imagine there will be elements in the driving to advance the story.

It's preety obvious.
Go to a cabakura, get a voucher with a psn code on it, register the code on psn and then trophy earned.

Think that just means, when you actually walk around outside with a hostess, basically go on a proper date, you will get the trophy.

現実世界 does make it sound like they mean "real life," though.

I'm more entertained by the idea of Kiryu riding around in an 痛車!

Then download the hostess to your Vita, carry it around on a "date" ala LovePlus, and check-in at any participating conbini or Warawara nationwide...

Enter for a chance to win a real date with one of the RgG5 participating hostesses.

I need to stop before I make myself sick.
