The Olympics is a week away and in preparation sales of Sega’s official London 2012 game rise by 5%, keeping it ahead of ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’ (+40%) which jumps 2 places to No3, boosted by a price drop. Activision’s two Top 10 titles ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ (-28%) and ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’ (-4%) take the next two slots at No’s 4 and 5 respectively.

In a quiet week, there is only one Top 40 new entry, Square-Enix/Nintendo’s ‘Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance’ new at No6. It’s the second biggest 3DS launch so far in 2012 (behind ‘Resident Evil: Revelations). Perhaps boosted by the cinema release of the new film, ‘Batman: Arkham City’ (+37%) climbs back into the Top 10 at No7 ahead of Sega’s second Olympic hopeful ‘Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games’ (+13%) which jumps 2 places to No8. The Top 10 is rounded off by previous All Formats No1s ‘Max Payne 3’ (+23%) at No9 and ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ (-15%) at No10.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Decent start for KH? Any idea of the numbers?

In a quiet week, there is only one Top 40 new entry, Square-Enix/Nintendo’s ‘Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance’ new at No6. It’s the second biggest 3DS launch so far in 2012 (behind ‘Resident Evil: Revelations).

Kingdom Hearts story in UK.

No Kingdom Hearts game ever crossed 100k (although I and II did cross 50k) in the UK. Disney just doesn't seem have the same appeal there as in the US.

Thanks.

Didn't RE:R sell well though (or better that GAF expected)?

RE:R debut was at 11k around. Not that bad considering the game itself, but very bad compared to RE5 / RE:ORC. What really has determined bad considerations about its European performance ( as well as US one) has been its quick fall ( from 1st to 22nd to out of top 40 in UK ). And now, in fact, the most interesting thing about KH3D will be if it'll have some sort of a better trend after the first week.

Inazuma Eleven 2 is advertised so much in stores that it's not surprising it's doing so well. Nice for Level-5, I wonder how they'll manage next releases in Europe.

<11k for KH? Yeesh

Not surprising in the least. UK is probably the worst place for Kingdom Hearts sales and the 3DS already isn't doing great there. What's truly terrible is that a game can have freaking less than 11k debut and end up at number 3. UK market is so dead.

This needs to be reminded also for future Kingdom Hearts games

No Kingdom Hearts game ever crossed 100k (although I and II did cross 50k) in the UK. Disney just doesn't seem have the same appeal there as in the US.

EDIT: However, the game debuted 3rd, not 4th, so UK market is not as dead as you feared! :p

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Curiosity: Resident Evil: Revelations never appeared in charts from Sweden / Norway / Finland.

Guys! I saw not one, but two adverts for KH last night!

HOLY SHIT DAT PUSH!!!
...But unlike many 3DS games which lost many positions after the first week, KH3D is doing pretty well so far on Amazon. Maybe there's a possibility for a good second week.

Traditional handheld consoles aren't really doing well here.

It's something pretty noticable when neither Super Mario 3D Land or Mario Kart 7 appear in good positions / appear at all in those charts.

Spain

Hardware sales (GfK):
3DS: 158.000 (02.01.2012 - 15.07.2012)

3DS: 28.000 (23.04.2012 - 14.05.2012)

3DS market share: 70%
Vita market share: 30%

I don't know if the market share refers to the first half of 2012 or LTD sales (or the period from April to May).

Source

EDIT: I've found more sales:

3DS: 32.386
PSV: 13.880 (30% market share)

The article has been posted on 01.06.2012 and they say these numbers are for the last 5 weeks.

I'm not sure, but the timeframe should be 23.04.2012 - 27.05.2012

The reason why they talk about this specific timeframe is the first communion, kids get a lot of gifts.

Well, 3DS managed 158.000 units from January to mid-July, that's an average of 24.307 per month (4 - 5 weeks).

May sales are higher because of the first communion, as stated.

3DS LTD should be 488.000 as of 15.07.2012, it should pass 500.000 units in some days. ;)

It's a bit confusing but I think the market share refers to the first half of 2012. In fact, that would be an atrocious market share for the 3DS if it referred to its LTD sales.

Nintendo PR:
