Don't worry though, he'll be back for any potential meltdowns next week. It just wouldn't be the same otherewise. :)

Unban him for 1 dat Media Create numbers, then put him back in his hole for another week :lol

Poor jimbo.

To fly that close to the sun, only to fall back to Earth.

We have lost a great friend, a great man, and a great hero tonight.

God have mercy on our souls.

Does Media-Create update the YTDs or LTDs every 6 or 12 months for all the games of the year? Or is that just Famitsu?

Well, iirc Namco wanted 500k for Vesperia worldwide. It's done about 133k in Japan. Means it needs to make up 367k in NA and EU. It definitely didn't do the at least 200k it would need to do in NA and looking at the lineup this fall, I don't think it's going to see a sales spurt anytime soon... I do think it at least did better than Abyss and Legendia in NA though. Not launching in the same month as FFXII probably helped.
500k for the US, Asia and JPN in fiscal 2008.

I know he's banned for the moment but wow, what a doucheback.

I lurked in last weeks MC thread, watched all the drama between PL and Jimbo, and I lol'd when the 360 sold damn near exactly what PL predicted.

Personally, I have no problem with any console outselling either, but when its wrong, its wrong.

Yeah, I dont post here often, I'm a junior. /blush
But i dont think that invalidates anything i've said.

(abit late with the reply, went out for dinner. Australian BBQ)

We all used to be juniors. That doesn't say you have less right than others. Don't let some different opinion makes you think we all think the same about juniors. You're welcome anytime. And yes, there was nothing wrong with what you said :D

Ahem, get rid of the boob gif!

Though I am really surprised to see the xbox 360 outselling the ps3 for the second week. Maybe it's for the better. That way Sony Japan will have to act somehow. Give me my Rpgs!

Too bad Famitsu combined the week of ToV with the week after. That way we can't really compare the software spike with IU in this chart. For hardware, I used the leaked numbers however.

your like a teacher, telling the kids to behave and one didn't. I hope he isn't banned long, he makes threads interesting in a sad way like kittonwy.

Disaster indeed.
I'm not surprised that Level-5 are slightly wary about committing to console games at the moment. They're probably waiting to see how MH3 does.

Pretty nice for World Destruction. Knights in the Nightmare is looking like a decent start for Sting. And... Disaster is less of a disaster than Captain Rainbow!

I expected Disaster to do 1,000 first day, so 10k is much better than I expected. I thought these types of games don't sell in Japan.

Well, Disaster did the expected numbers for first day... which weren't good numbers to try and achieve in the first place. :(

Hopefully it gets better sales through the rest of the week!

WTF. This will sell that well on PS2 even in 2010. It's getting ridiculous.

Yeah, SRWZ is a beast. It should open up close to 2004's Super Robot Wars MX, which hit just above 400k first week, and 520k LTD.

That'd mean that this newest PS2 game, 8 and 1/2 years after it debuted, will get near the top-50 games in the entire PS2 library, and one of the best selling console games of the year. Insane.

Hey PantherLotus, someone pointed it out last week but you likely missed it: In your weekly console market share chart you switched up Wii and PS3 in the legend.

Thanks for everyone for the constant delivery of charts and analysis, and the occasional dramas...

Pretty much what I had in mind for X Edge, but Aquanauts I thought would get a higher number.

Does anyone have Alpha 3 numbers? Those seem rather low for the first game in a new main SRW series, even though they're generally nice.

Edit: Nevermind. I was thinking about 1st week numbers. Let's see how this game ends...

Very decent for World Destruction and vindicates the multimedia strategy for the brand, IMO.

Knights in the Nightmare isn't so bad, actually. Remember that both Yggdra Union and Riviera topped out at 15k-30k depending on the SKU. Sting is not putting games out to market expecting to sell a million. Even if you go back into their Dreamcast days, they still weren't cracking 100k for the most part.

I'd love to see a shipment number for Disaster. 10k is obviously a very poor number, but at the same time this is a western-focused game and so I'm not sure we should consider the Japanese release anything but a token release. The game's VA is in English, so it's not as though the Japanese version costed them a substantial extra amount to release.

AWFUL sales for both Disaster and Aquanaut Holiday, but especially for Disaster, I doubt the western sales is going to make up for it either, on the other hand it's not like it's some really expensive game to develop compared to what's out there these days.

Yeah, I get the feeling Disaster's gonna be one of those games that's not very good. What's the proper name for it? Oh yeah, a Wii game.

Hell no. Unless you found GCN sales in Japan respectable. IMO, the only reason PS3 isn't looked at as a complete disaster is probably because the Wii is not really in the same league as a PS3 or 360 and probably won't receive the high budget games. It's like what would happened with the GCN if the PS2 was using PSX tech.

That's a really biased way to look at it.

The reason why is because of the so-called 10 year cycle, promise in the future. Same thing for many of the game investments.

Like I said previously, once it becomes clear the promises were empty THEN it will inevitably be looked upon as a disaster.

It has nothing to do with horse power, that is only a hardcore gamer thing which you guys have latched onto for some reason as justification for almost everything, the market doesn't care about any of that.

The "10-year cycle" is the biggest pile of marketing shit I have ever seen anyone swallow. People who buy into that automatically identify themselves as retarded as far as I'm concerned.

Dizasutaaa! Not a title to have legs. Western-oriented, pfft, 10k is not good for a Wii title published by Nintendo, period.
