A friend of mine is around 30 weeks and recently got some high quality scans and there was some nervousness about what they saw. Of course the parents being worried wanted to know what it could be so the doctor walked through in terrifying detail what it could be. They eventually got another scan, and everything was great - turns out the baby just was taking it's time growing right.
Anyway, the point is, at one point it came up that because of the extremely high quality imaging and the bombardment of tests we have available to us, people get way too much info when it comes to pregnancy. Turns out taking a baby to term often has these little hiccups. When my mom had my younger sister 20 years ago though, she went to get one low res ultrasound and that was basically it. Mind you she's from rural Ethiopia, but I don't remember so many tests and checkups and images a while back.
I sound like a crumudgeon, and I'm really not - I think we're doing a great job at having healthy babies in the west, and all of the advancements in modern medicine are awesome, I just know that people are going to panic if even the slightest thing is off about a pregnancy, which is a sad side effect of knowing too much.
I'm really glad for you OP, and I hope when that baby comes it's the best day of your life.
