Yeah, it's a few days early. I'm heading to Texas tomorrow for opening series goodness and had the template all ready.
Also, hoping to add some new members and maybe old members to some of the currently forever alone teams. If you are looking to get in on the team/poster graphic, shoot me a PM.

Added rc213 and geeko420 to the list. Today I'm in laundry/packing mode. So I'll be around.

Also, if anyone wants to play some MLB11 I've yet to play an online opponent.

Excitement!

I only found out last week I'm getting the first off, but now it's too late to even try for Jays tickets. :(

2011 is the year of Moneyball

Moneyball movie this summer

Oakland A's 2011 World Series champions with the league's best defense, rotation, bullpen, and smartest and best looking GM played by Brad Pitt

Gio Gonzalez Cy Young (narrowly beating out Brett Anderson and Trevor Cahill)

Chris Carter Rookie of the Year

Daric Barton Most Awesome Player (second consecutive award)

This east coast bias bullshit is getting out of hand.

If the OP is going to have classic team logos the A's one should be the elephant or the 70's Swingin' A's logo.

He was going to, then he realized you're kind of a prick.

Ain't no bias. Someone else listed your name for you, I just transfered it and forgot to change it. I'll look at some of the other other logos.

Woo woo, I got 2 teams suckas. Not sure how that happened.

Not sure about going to a game on Opening Weekend, Sunday's a possibility if I get my final assignments (ever!) done early.

Picks!

NL East:

Braves 95-67: I've made my case previously.
Phillies 94-68: It will be a close one though.
Marlins 85-77: Their starting pitching is going to be good.
Mets 79-83: They'll be a pretty boring team this year I think. Just sort of... there.
Nationals: 75-87: Getting better.

NL Central:

Reds 91-71: I believe, even if their starting pitchers are falling like Jenga towers.
Brewers 88-74: Good but probably not good enough.
Cardinals 85-77: And thus ends the Pujols era.
Cubs 76-86: Just because.
Pirates 72-90: This is your year Pirates fans (not to come in last)!
Astros: 70-92: #30org

NL West:

Giants 92-70: Posey's going to regress and Belt's going to mash.
Rockies 89-73: These guys are still really good.
Dodgers 85-77: Another boring team.
Padres 83-79: They're going to have serious problems if Latos goes down.
Diamondbacks 78-84: This team has a long way to go, but Justin Upton is going to have a good year.

AL East:

Red Sox 96-66: Hard not to pick them here.
Rays 90-72: Still good, still going to be good, despite the personnel losses.
Yankees 86-76: datpitching.ohwait
Blue Jays 82-80: Lots of potential, but it's still just that. Bautista is going to regress like a motherfucker.
Orioles 71-91: They'll have a new manager by May.

AL Central:

Twins 86-76: Just needs better luck with health than they had last year.
White Sox 86-76: PLAY-IN GAME WOOOOOO
Tigers 81-81: A medium team, in every sense, I think.
Indians 74-88: Young team, some talent, but not there yet.
Royals 0-162: Melky Cabrera is hitting 2nd, Kyle Davies is one of their best pitchers.

AL West:

Rangers 85-77: Good but not great.
Athletics 81-81: I'll learn the names of the whole line-up eventually.
Angels 80-82: Maybe this will finally be Brandon Wood's year.
Mariners 76-86: A light-year away from my disastrous pick for them last season.

Playoffs:

If dice lands 1-3, then Phillies win. 4-6, Braves win. 7-9, Red Sox win. 10-12, White Sox.

I haven't posted in the MLB thread before but wanted to throw my hat in with my fellow Mets fans. I just hope this isn't Jose's last year.

It's really wrong that Branduil makes the Rangers icon and not any of the actual fans.

I didn't even realize it till I was watching the Yanks/Pirates earlier today that there's going to be no game on Friday in the series opener. Seems so weird when I think it about.

Heh, I'll be around regardless.

I agree with your picks for the NL Central, btw. Not, that I like it.

History will remember him as the GOAT. Way to be on the wrong side of history.

Well, time to start being realistic now that this is the new official thread.

As the only Orioles fan in existence, I'll say they go 4th in the division, 84-78. That said, if everything went right, the O's could easily finish 3rd. I think Tampa's offense is pretty terrible and the Jays pitching staff is in serious trouble if Morrow is sidelined for most of the year. But the Jays roid up everyone of their hitters, so who knows.

Oh, and the Yankees suck. SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Too many bandwagoners across the country.

Should be a fun year!

The Orioles pitching is busted beyond repair. I'd rather have the Jays 6th (The RZE) starter than the O's 3rd (Justin DLshererer).

I'd rather have the O's hitting.

And Duscherherherhehrehrher probably will pitch 5 games this year. I like our young starters. Most of them won't do much, but the O's will be better then the Jays. Well, unless the roids boost Escobar into becoming a 30 homer shortstop.

Haha there we go. The Oriole Way!
