Pretty much. 'Fucked up' implies that something bad is happening due to something he actively done. I mean, getting killed by Yakuza is pretty unlikely but it is ominous as fuck.

I see 4 scenarios, all of which are far fetched, aside from the first:
1 - He quit GAF -- A scenario that I've been finding more and more appealing lately.

2 - He got thrown in jail for something. If that's the case, you can't really do anything about that.
3 - He is dead. Can't do anything about that.
4 - He was (lol) kidnapped by Yakuza. Can't do anything about that.

really? after like six months? at that point i'd expect my friends and family in the real world (not to mention THE POLICE) to be looking for me, not internet sleuths.
if something crazy happened to him and he disappeared, it's likely that someone in a position to actually do something about it noticed by now.
Someone could contact his employer or university and see if they had an black male employee/student who has disappeared. We could ask the employer if anyone asked for 1 months off in March, and then didn't come back.

I guess you don't believe people can have Internet friends and can become worried when their friends disappear.
The posters closest to him don't want to call him up for a chat, just some peace of mind that he's ok is all.
He was a black man in China. Is it that farfetched to believe that he could have been unfairly targeted by some criminals or maybe even the authorities? I'm not saying that all Chinese, or even the majority are racist towards blacks, but it's just some food for thought.

I'm going to be completely cynical and guess he either fucked a 13-year-old he met on Facebook or got caught with a hard drive full of child porn and he's either in prison or he's got standard sex offender probation conditions that bar him from the internet.

Alright detectives, first things first. Determine his identity. Locate his hometown. Determine travel plans. And find out where he vanished on the way. Disappeared in China or Japan? Is the US State Department aware of this?

This whole thing is really eerie, but I don't know what we could possibly do. All we have are vague details about some hotel he might have stayed at and that he apparently worked at Costco. Does anybody know anything more about him?

He made that last post a few days after his transit stop in Hong Kong. And there are plenty of black people in Hong Kong.
Nothing happened, so we can't have approached ludicrous speed yet. And for the most part its people saying it's weird. No one's gone overboard yet. Some one might have some info, and does it really hurt to ask?
Dev posted some info about him earlier. No names yet. Plus he's a British national, so the US state dept won't be involved. Not a lot of info going around.

No. Onemic and Freemufasa are too different.
